Dorothy Oliver Obituary

Dorothy Oliver 1921 - 2008 NORTH ADAMS DOROTHY AGNES (QUIRK) OLIVER, 87 of 85 Eagle St., died Wednesday Sept. 24, at North Adams Commons. She was born in North Adams, on July 6, 1921, daughter of Patrick Quirk and Alice Brennen Quirk. She attended schools in North Adams including the former St. Joseph's Parochial School. Dorothy was a self-employed housekeeper for several families in the Northern Berkshire area. She also worked at the former Richmond Hotel. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was a volunteer at the St. Francis Hope Chest. She was also a Girl Scout Leader. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the widow of Grover Oliver, who died on Sept. 18, 1991. They were married on January 29, 1946. She leaves three daughters, Mildred Kisielewski, of North Adams; Rosemary Oliver, of Northampton; and Nancy Girard of Stamford, Vt., one Son, Alan John Oliver, of North Adams, six grandchildren, Guy Kisielewski, Dean Kisielewski, Jesse Kisielewski, Matthew Girard, Lynn Girard, and David Girard; five Great-Grandchildren, Taylor, Katie, Casey, Corey, and Shane, one brother, William Quirk, of North Adams, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Five brothers and one sister are deceased, John, Robert, Thomas, James, Edward, and Mildred Quirk. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Dorothy Oliver will be Monday Sept. 29, 2008 at 8:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Autism Society in care of the funeral home.

Nancy and family,
