Pat,
We were so fortunate to get to know you and Lou over the years. You and Lou welcomed the whole "Brown tribe" many times into your home. We were always met with laughter, LOTS of food, and a feeling of being right at home. We are blessed with Sandy as our sister-in-law. She shares Lou's gentle ways and sense of humor. We are sorry for your loss and pray that God will comfort you and your family during this time. Lucy and Paul Hill

Pat & children: How sad you have lost your wonderful husband and father. I remember all of you with the fondest of memories, especially you Sandy. I have a favorite picture of Louie on a fishing trip to Canada with my Dad, from long ago. I learned my appreciation of "Big Band" music from your record collection. My Mom would be so saddened to hear this news, instead she is there to greet Louie. God Bless you all. Jennie Gragg Cory

Dear Pat, Sandy and the rest of your family,
We met Lou when he and my son formed a bond. Lou gladly let Darr into his life during a community service project that Darr had to complete. They bonded over Lou's time in the Army. They had a common bond. Lou shared a lot about his time during the war with Darr including his purple heart but never mentioned the Medal of Honor. Darr said "Lou must have been doing a lot more than just his medic duties!". I remember one thing that Darr shared with me, Lou told Darr that he didn't really know God until he went to war and Lou said there you know there is God. I know that Lou was a true believer and I thank God for his friendship with my son. I know it had an impact. I thank you Pat for sharing Lou with Darr. I thank Sandy for bringing them together. Darr was deeply saddened when he heard of Lou's loss as were we. We will keep you all in our prayers and thoughts. Our deepest sympathies are extended to your entire family. Love, Peggy, Ron, Darr and Dakotah Whitcomb

Grandpa, you were not only a man of honor, a husband, a father, and a grandfather, but you were/are an inspiration and a patriarch to be remembered.
Grandma, we will always be there for you and Grandpa's memories will live on in us and our children.
Thank you for all you have taught us and done for us.
There was no greater gift that could have been given to me than having you make it to my wedding and being there to share my day. Thank you so much to all those family members that made this possible. It was my biggest dream that you all made come true. I will always have that last memory and savor it forever.

Debbie and Family, my wife Belinda (ZaGara) and I would like to express our condolences and our gratitude, as odd as it may sound. No-one can ever understand the true feelings of another, however we often share some common bonds that make it easier. I am a Command Sergeant Major of nearly 28 years in active service in the United States Army.
My family can appreciate and understand the sacrifices of both your father and the family in defense of this country. Additionally, it appears that your father was not only a service memeber but a true American Hero. The Medal of Honor is the highest of any of its kind in the world. As in your description your father was a great man all around. We wish you and your family fond love and memories of our Fallen Commrad. I know the United States Army Shares my sentiment.
Again please accept our sincere condolences and gratitude.
