Monika,
My oldest and dearest friend. I'm so sorry to hear about Rick. I didn't know that this had happened, until I was trying to reconnect with you. I'm so sorry that I wasn't there for you and the kids. You have always been in my thoughts over the years. I have all of you in my prayers. I would like to reconnect and stay in better touch.

It has been a couple weeks, and we are all still in shock. Tim was loved so much here at the office. He always had such a contagious outlook, and never once thought of himself before others. When we would go on trips, Tim would have the plane stocked with McDonalds and the coffee was always hot, it was not part of his job, he just was extra thoughtfull. He would take our bags for us, help us up the plane stairs, and even remove our bags and load them into to our cars when we returned home! He made everyone feel so spoiled and special because he went out of his way to ensure our trip was enjoyable and free of strees. I looked foward to his off the wall jokes, or his inside jokes! Everyone here has a story, or two, and each one we will hold dear to our hearts! Tim was a true servant, and a man of God. I hope his family knows how many peoples lives were affected by Tim's death. His impact on people and his compassion for the Lord, should be a great example to those of us left behind. We had another friend die last week, one that Tim had such admiration for. Steffanie was the daughter of a co-worker. She had a brain tumor. Our staff raised money last summer to send her on vacation. Tim, donated the proceeds from an entire flight he had flown as a side job, totaling quite a bit of money. He did not want his name to be linked to it, he was modest like that, but he wanted to ensure the funds were sufficiant. I feel like Tim was there for her when she passed away, holding her hand and showing her around. He was just that kind of guy. I pray for Audra and Marc, and Matt.

We're so sorry that we couldn't be with you last week. We have thought of you often over the years and have always wanted to meet back up with you, but it just never seemed to work out.
We're so proud to have known Rick and had the blessing to spend a lot of time planning for the work in Vitoria. Even though we weren't able to carry through with those plans, we have lived vicariously through your work there.
You all are in our prayers.

Dear Sandoval family,
We are so saddened by Rick's accident. We always knew what a good husband, father, and friend he was. Sometimes its hard as parents to see the effect we are having on our children, but there is no doubting the effect Rick had; all we have to do is look at his three beautiful and loving children. I was listening to the radio right about when the funeral was going on and I heard the song "Wind Beneath My Wings" and I knew that it was for Rick because he was a hero to so many people even if he didn't know it. We are praying for you and hope to see you soon.

Rickie was the man every man wished they could be. He was the best father, the best son, the best husband, and the best Christian man I have ever known. He was so very smart, always happy, and always a friend. Just the sight of Rickie would raise your spirits, especially when he whipped that smile on ya! I really believe that quite possibly the best man on the face of the earth has been taken from us. Words can't express the grief, nor the loss. I loved Rickie with all my heart and pray for his wonderful family, and the families of all onboard.

Words cannot express the amount of respect that we had for Tim, both as a co-worker and as a Christian, who lived his faith in both word and deed. Tim was an amazing pilot and we both knew that we were always in great hands with him in the pilot's seat. We could always count on Tim for a wise and hilarious comment (or a few). Whether it was the very first flight on the first Foundation Surgery Affiliates plane, flying to the Big XII Championship, flying on business trips or flying our family, Tim defined "servant leadership" in our every interaction. Audra, Matt and Marc, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We love you and will always treasure the friendship of your husband and father. Thank you for sharing him with us.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Sandovals and other families who have lost loved ones due to this tragic event. We are truly sorry and our hearts go out to you.
Ricky and Tamara used to baby sit me in Weatherford, OK when I was six years old and Ricky was fifteen (I still remember!) My family moved to the mission field in Mexico City when I was ten. No one in Mexico could pronounce "Kirk" correctly. So, I changed my name to Ricky while I lived down there and the name has followed me ever since. The reason I chose the name "Ricky" was because of Rick Sandoval. I haven't seen him in 25 years and he probably never knew how much I looked up to him as a child in 1983 and how much of an impact he had on me as a six year-old.
I am truly sad to hear of this news and I know he will be missed by many people. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers during this time of grief.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Rick, All i can think about right now is the times we spent together while i was going to school in Tulsa and would get home sick so i would drive to see my extended family 180 miles away. I would say that i didnt really know you very well at this point however i spent alot of time sleeping on your couch like 2 times a month or better. And in the end i knew alot more about you and your family and am happy to say you are my cousin and for you i am going to eventually continue my flight lessons because life from the air is so much more beautiful then it is on the ground. And remember you will always be in the co pilot seat when im flying.

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
