Bruce Martin Vander Lind

Bruce Martin Vander Lind 01/14/1950 to 09/10/2013 Bruce was born on January 14, 1950 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Lawrence and Irene Vander Lind. Bruce was very outgoing and had a keen sense of humor. He enjoyed playing golf, scuba diving, international traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Vander Lind and his grandparents, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan. A memorial service is scheduled to be held in "The Treehouse" auditorium at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Carrollton, TX (near Park & Midway) on Saturday, September 14th at 10:00 am. Bruce is survived by his mother, Irene Vander Lind of Traverse City, Michigan, two sons and their spouses, Burke & Amy Vander Lind of Johnson City, TN, and Brady & Jessica Vander Lind of Las Vegas, NV, one daughter, Hilary Vander Lind of Glacier, Washington, two brothers, Larry & Lianna Vander Lind of Ashland, Oregon, and David Vander Lind of Traverse City, Michigan. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Barrett, Brooke, and Lauren Vander Lind, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bruce will be missed by many, including his ex-wife, Rhonda Martin of Plano, TX and his "girls", two West Highland terriers, Nicole and Cristal. The family is asking that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bruce's memory to the Autism Speaks organization at http://events.autismspeaks.org/tributes/brucemartinvanderlind?faf=1&e=7126143421. Bruce has an autistic grandson that endeared him to be an avid supporter and educator of autism.
