Arthur Lucia Obituary

LUCIA, ARTHUR C. , age 60 of The Villages, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Art relocated to The Villages in 2004 from Fairfax, VA. He retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years in 1991 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a Vietnam veteran, Army Aviator, and member of the Joint Staff After retiring from the Army, Art was a Senior Consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton. Art retired fully in 2005. He was a member and usher at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and President of The Villages
Sunset Rotary Foundation. Art loved his family and golfing. He was a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point class of 1970. He is survived by his wife Maureen, two sons, Arthur H. of Christiansburg, VA, and Michael of Spring Hill, FL; two daughters, Caitlin
Szymendera of California, MD, and Kristen Lucia of Oxford, OH; his father Arthur R. Lucia of Floral Park, NY; two sisters, Sue Schmidt of Clinton Township, MI and Lynn C. Flynn of Dix Hills, NY; two brothers,
Donald of Lake Grove, NY and Kevin of Harrisburg, PA, and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday and Friday, January 15th and 16th at Banks/PageTheus Funeral Chapel from 2-4PM and 7-9PM both days. Funeral service will be held 8:30AM, Saturday, January 17th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Building Fund, 5323 E. CR 462 Wildwood, FL 34785. Arrangements entrusted to Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, FL. Online condolence may be left at bankspagetheuscom

Maureen; Pinky and I are very sorry to hear of Art's passing. As a college roomate and member of our wedding, Art will always be in our thoughts. May he rest in peace.

As a West Point classmate and fellow retired LTC in the early 90s retirment class, I feel Artie's departure keenly. A good man and valued member of the class, may God bless him and welcome him into his kingdom.
