Harvey Barnes Obituary
PEORIA - Harvey Leonard Barnes III, 46, of Peoria, Ill., passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born July 6, 1962, in Peoria, Ill., to Harvey L. and Marilyn Adams Barnes Jr. He married Karen Moon on Oct. 27, 1998, in Peoria, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Alysia Barnes of Peoria, and Kayla Barnes and Maranda Barnes, both of Chillicothe, Ill.; one son, Corey Barnes of Peoria; and one stepdaughter, Kelsey (Brody) Helms of Peoria. One sister also survives, Ann Barnes (Augustin Ros) of Cambridge, Miss.; as well as five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harvey worked construction, working out of the Carpenters Union Local 183.
He was a member of the Chillicothe Gun Club.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.

Oh my, my brother, I just found out. My prayers and thoughts are with all you all who love Harvey. He was truley a kind dude. Another empty spot in my heart. I thought the world of Harvey and I have never seen him speak badly of another human being. A friend for many years I will truley miss him. Kids , if you remember me, I love you. I am in such shock. Harvey was very dear to me. I have known him since 1981, and have watched him turn into such a good man.

I had never talked to Harvey (Or JJmoon as he was known) but i had always heard that he was a great guy who everyone could very easily get along with.
He will be sadly missed and my prayers are with the family.

My deepest condolences to the family. He always spoke so highly of his family and wasn't anything but proud. He will be missed dearly, he made an impact on so many of our lives even in the short time some of us knew him through AstroEmpires and Space Oddessy.

Ann & Karen My prayers are with you in this sad time. I was so shocked to see Harvey's obituary in the newspaper. I shall remember how he helped me do some very needed repairs to my house that often the companies would not even leave bids on. I really appreciated his help. He was a good person.

my prayers go out to harvey's family. i have played with harvey on online war games for the last 2 years. in that time he had became my best friend online. he was always so full of life and the nicest guy u could meet. over 3 hundred people he became friends with online will sorely miss him.

I only recently got to know Harvey (jjmoon) through AE. He was a man of honor and a man of his word. I know he was like this in real life. It was only a few weeks ago that he spoke lovingly of his wife, his children and grandchildren to us over the internet. My thoughts are with you during this sad time. He will be missed.

Miss barnes , Karen,Ann I have known you all for a very long time Since we all grew up in Peoria ( east bluff, Woodruff high school) I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
