Robert Witherell Obituary

GLENS FALLS Robert "Fudd" Witherell, 67, of Glens Falls, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2008, at the Glens Falls Hospital, with his loved ones by his side, after a short illness. Born on Oct. 27, 1940 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Emmett Witherell and Noami (Hicks) Witherell and his stepfather, Earl Cameron. Fudd began his working career at The Post-Star, later working at Finch Pruyn and Native Textiles, all located in Glens Falls. He was an avid sports fan, affectionately known as a car nut. Fudd loved watching NASCAR and attending local dirt racing events. Some of his favorite times were going on long rides in the country with his companion, Rose. Survivors include his companion of 26 years, Rose King of Glens Falls; his children, Melissa Leombruno, Robert Witherell and his wife, Dawn, and Mary Beth Jones; his stepchildren, Donna Wilson, Pam King, Patty Barrett, Debbie Dean and Robert King; his grandchildren, Ginger, Brandy, Amanda, Steven, Meagan, Bobby, Jason, Nick, Amanda, Matt, Michael, Stephanie, Brittany, Kim, Becky, Katie, Johnny, Kyle and Konnor; his one great-grandchild, Christian; his brothers and sisters, Sharon Pick, David Witherell, Bridgit Higgins, Jennifer Neifeld and Linden Witherell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 136 Warren St. in Glens Falls. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. in Glens Falls. Private burial will take place at Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Capital District Chapter, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206-2083.
