Margaret Dube Obituary

QUEENSBURY Margaret "Peg" Dube, 85, of the Glen at Hiland Meadows and a longtime Hadlock Pond resident, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born on March 14, 1923, in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Mabb) Evans. Peg married Roland "Buck" Dube on Oct. 6, 1946, at St. Paul's Rectory in Hudson Falls. Buck passed away on April 17, 2003. Peg retired after working many years for the General Electric Co. in Fort Edward. She enjoyed spending time with family, bowling, traveling, camping, sewing, reading and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed rooting for her beloved Yankees. She loved her special cat, Fluffy. Peg also enjoyed traveling across country in a 5th wheeler. Peg was a former member of senior citizens' groups in South Glens Falls and Hudson Falls, a former member of the Glens Falls Association for the Hearing Impaired and the Ladies Auxiliary of the West Fort Ann Fire Department and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elk. Her family said "she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who brought a smile to everyone she touched." Family members who predeceased her include her parents, and her husband, one grandson, Scott Daniels, two granddaughters, Michelle Daniels and Bethany Parsons, one brother, Arthur Evans and four sisters: Rilla Hayes, Josephine Lunt, Annabelle Counter and Florence Mabb. Survivors include three children: Patricia Daniels and her husband, Edward, of South Glens Falls, Herman Rumrill and his wife, Susan, of South Glens Falls and Barbara Plowman and her husband, David, of Glens Falls; her grandchildren: Kristie Baker and her husband, Brian, David Daniels and his wife, Susan, Shawn Perez and her husband, Carlos, Matthew Parsons, Gregory, Todd and Cara Rumrill and her fiance, Christian Peper, Jennifer Rumrill and her fiance, Aaron Aiken; her great-grandchildren, Joshua Wood and his wife, Bobbi, Brittany and Amanda Wood, Michelle Baker, Katie, Alec and Isabel Perez, Ryan, Kaylee and Christianna Rumrill, Erin, Moriah and Hunter Aiken, Ian and Jillian Peper; step grandchildren, Kathleen Chandler and her husband, Robert, of Queensbury, Jacquelyn Fuller of Queensbury, Susan Russell of Queensbury and Carolyn Hart and her husband, William, of Queensbury; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 4, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Lefurgey, pastor of the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Southside Cemetery in the town of Moreau. Peg's family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers to, The Glens Falls Association for the Hearing Impaired, 71 Glenwood Ave., Glens Falls, NY 12801 or High Peaks Hospice, 667 Bay Road, Suite 1, Queensbury, NY 12804.

I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF PEGGY. SHE WAS A DEAR FRIEND OF MINE AT GE. AND WE KEPT IN TOUCH OVER THE YEARS WITH OUR YEARLY CHRISTMAS CARD.SHE IS WITH THE LOVE OF HER LIFE NOW BUCK. MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU ALL AND I KNOW YOU HAVE MANY FOUND MEMORIES. TALK ABOUT HER OFTEN IT IS VERY HEALING. GOD BLESS, DEBBIE LATHAM
