Caroline Elmore Obituary

Gansevoort Mrs. Caroline Marie (Paddock) Elmore, born Sept. 27, 1948, passed into the arms of our Lord, July 19, 2008 at home, after a courageous journey. To those she loved, her husband R. Michael Elmore of 41 years, whom she married July 30, 1967. Her three children and their spouses, Robyn (Myron) Gates, Michael (Kathi) Elmore and Patrick (Kimberly) Elmore. Her grandchildren, Staycia (Robert) Sheerer, Tiffany Gates, Alycia Howe, Nathan Elmore. Her great grandchildren, Dylan, Joseph and Thomas Sheerer. Also her beloved dog, Clifford and her cat, Trouble and those she loved that went before her, and friends and family she leaves behind. She leaves this message to all she loved, "To Those I Love - When I am gone, just release me, let me go - so I can move into my afterglow. You mustn't tie me down with your tears; let's be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love; you can only guess how much you gave me happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve for me awhile, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted with trust. It's only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. And then when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a 'Welcome Home.' '' Caroline was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Marie (Stone) Paddock, and her brothers, Donald, Freeman, Martin and Maurice. Also surviving her are her sisters, Ellen and Luella, and brothers, John and Daniel. She was a proud graduate of Granville High School, Class of 1966. She owned and operated her own cleaning service, traveling all over to take care of people and enjoying their company. She was a member of the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church. Caroline enjoyed arts and crafts, especially painting and decorating old furniture, her collection of teddy bears, baking, home decorating, yard sales, being outdoors, her flowers and hiking with her husband. She was always willing to help anyone who needed it. At Caroline's request, she is to be cremated and services will be private. In lieu of flowers, comfort or donations may be sent to the CR Wood Cancer Center, 100 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801. Arrangements are under the direction of the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury, NY 12804.

mom you have gone from my sight but i know you are at peace a long journey you had you are my best friend how does one say goodbye i cannot for i know i will see you again and goodbye is forever take comfort in the Lord's arms i know you are where you need to be but i will miss you your heart always so big and no one who came to you did you turn away even as you grew weaker i thank you for being "my mom" and teaching me to love and to give "it" away and not to look at things just in an ordinary way you are my mommy, my mother, my friend and most important my hero. The weeks and months we spent going through your journey i admire your courage and your strength. You helped me to be strong. I will only cry for a little while more and then must pull myself up and dust myself off and bring you with me in my heart for i know you will never be far away. i will softly pray to hear you voice echo in my day i love you mom

Mike, Robyn,Mike & Pat (and extended family)
First I want to say I appreciated the notes of condolences (when I lost John) even though you were going through your own turmoil. My heart aches for you. I wish I could say time will soften the loss but all I can honestly say is that I hope it does. If you need someone to talk to or if there is anything else I can do to ease the pain, please feel free to call. Phone # is in the book. Carol was a beautiful person inside & out and loved you with all her heart. The poem she left as a remembrance is a reflection of that. Be comforted.
