Connie Hamilton Obituary

SOUTH CAMBRIDGE Connie Suann Wilbur Hamilton, 60, of South Cambridge Road, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of John Malcolm Hamilton. Born Jan. 4, 1948, in Glens Falls Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Foster Wilbur and Vivian Pratt Wilbur of Greenwich. The family lived on Bald Mountain and Connie attended a one-room schoolhouse through the third grade. She graduated from Greenwich Central School, Class of 1966. She and John were married on Dec. 16, 1978. Connie worked for 36 years at Miller's Livestock in Argyle where she weighed and tagged cows and calves. She enjoyed working with and visiting the local farmers. Horses have been an important part of Connie's life since girlhood. She loved raising and showing them. Riding was one of her most favorite things to do. Besides her devoted husband of 29 years and her mother, she is survived by a sister, Gayle Corscadden and husband, Fred, of Greenwich; a brother, David P. Wilbur and wife, Alice, of Greenwich; a sister-in-law, Joy Bonczek and husband, Steve Hollinger, of Champaign, Ill.; a brother-in-law, David Hamilton and wife, Carol, of South Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Hamilton of Cambridge; a cousin, Phyllis Weaver and husband, Windy, of Hudson Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Connie leaves behind her horse, Lady Quintella and her chocolate lab, Jessie. A brother-in-law, Carl Hamilton, died before her. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the family farm, 895 South Cambridge Road, on Sunday, July 27, 2008, after 2 p.m. Steve Hollinger, Jean Malone and Eugene Connell will conduct a service to honor and remember Connie's life starting at 4 p.m. Friends and family will have a time to share their wonderful memories of Connie's life and to console one another in their sadness of her passing during a potluck supper following the service. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Fwy. Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244 or at www.Komen.org, or Friends of Hospice, 415 Lower Main St., Hudson Falls, NY 12839. It was the wonderful care of Hospice and Connie's loving family that enabled her to be in her home at the time of her death as she wanted. Arrangements are under the direction of Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, Cambridge.

John & Family,

My heart goes out to all of you at this sad time. Connie was such a special person and I'm honored to have called her my friend for the past 20 years. I'll miss her grin and the smile in her eyes that made her Connie. Seeing her last month when I came home is one of the memories, I'll hold dear.
You're in my thoughts and prayers.
