James Park Obituary

GLENS FALLS James "Jim" U. Park, 72, of Glens Falls passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, after a long illness, at the Glens Falls Hospital, with his family by his side. Jim was born May 11, 1935, at the Glens Falls Hospital. He was the son of James and Ann Park of South Glens Falls. He attended and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1952. After graduation, Jim entered the United States Navy, where he served for three years at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. Jim was honorably discharged in 1956. Jim had a long, dedicated career with the United States Post Office for 34 years before his retirement on June 1, 1990. Jim had a passion for reading, sports and rock-n-roll music. Also, he enjoyed fishing and gardening. Jim was predeceased by his parents, James and Ann Park and his son, Terry Leo Park. Survivors include a son, Michael Park and his wife, Alyssa, of Queensbury; a stepdaughter, Donna Frasier of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandchildren: Kayleigh Park, Brooke Park, Lindsay Ireland all of Queensbury and Nicole Givens of Oleander, Texas; three great-grandchildren: Alexis Park of Queensbury and Brittney and Katarina Givens of Oleander Texas; his brother, Jeff Park and his wife, Joann, of Glens Falls; his sister, Germaine Rocco and her husband, Patrick, of Las Vegas and his wife of 24 years, Pauline Park of Queensbury. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Avenue, South Glens Falls with the Rev. David Paul McCane, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in South Glens Falls. Family and friends are invited and may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at the funeral home. Those who wish may send a remembrance in memory of Jim to the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation, 12 Warren St., Glens Falls, NY 12801. The family wishes to thank Dr. Weinhold, the staff of Adirondack Cancer Care and the staff at the Glens Falls Hospital for the exceptional care and passion through Jim's long illness.
