Gladys Maines Obituary

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. Mrs. Gladys M. Maines of 669 Spring Drive Ext., died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at her home. She was born the daughter of Dominic Lasso and Emily Smith Lasso. She lived most of her life in New Jersey. Gladys was married on April 11, 1959, to Clifford (Cliff) Maines. She had two children, a son, Clifford F. Maines Jr., and a daughter, Linda LaFond. Gladys was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dominic Lasso and Emily Lasso; son, Clifford F. Maines Jr., and a sister, Patricia Allen. Surviving are her husband, Clifford (Cliff) Maines; daughter, Linda LaFond and her husband, Alec, of Olmstedville, N.Y., three brothers: Albert Lasso and his wife, Ann, of Sparta, N.J., George Lasso of Cedar Knolls, N.J., and Dominic Lasso of Lodi, N.Y. She has two grandchildren, Michael Borden and Shane LaFond. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Wallburg. The Rev. Lynn Upchurch will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour before the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 4 Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407. Online condolences can be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
