Orpha's joy is ever present in my mind and kept in my heart. We had so much fun together! Yes, she was so very proud of her family and her dogs. She was also proud of her friends. Orpha was always willing to help a newcomer. I will always remember showing Jet Judy, Jetstream, Sheba, Jarvis and so many others. I am grateful Orpha chose me to present her dogs. My memories include all the dog exchanges at Wendy's, and ringside chats on good and bad days. I also recall seeing Orpha at her finest when she presented a talk on the Collie standard at the Collie Club of America symposium in Syracuse. That's when we saw her doing what she loved based - educating!
Thank you for sharing your Mom with us all-

We just heard about Orpha's passing. The collie world has lost another wonderful supporter. We have so many wonderful memories of Orpha and her beautiful, sound smooth collies. A couple of them went to shows with us - not only did they win, but they had great temperaments and personalities. We treasure the picture of Orpha giving our blue rough male a major, when she was judging in the south and our dog was being shown there by a handler. Orpha was especially good at helping people new to collies, educationing them about our wonderful breed. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Kathy, Karen, Ellen and Sean,
Our thoughts are with you as your mother was a dear person and a wonderful neighbor when we lived in Blue. Both Orpha and May were close to our family and we have good memories of their friendship.

Sean, Karin, Ellen and Kathy - I only had the pleasure of meeting your mom once. She was a very warm and friendly person and as I sat there listening to her stories about all the pictures lined up on the piano I could tell I was in for a treat. She was one of a kind - and will be missed by many but never forgotten. Enjoy your memories each of you have of your mom - no one can ever take them away from you. - I know I will.

Dear Kathy, Karin, Ellen, and Sean,
I met your mom ~28 years ago when Kathy and I were in college. Since that time, she's been like a second mom to me from a long distance. I'll always remember her smiling face, twinkle in her eyes, and feisty/warm/welcoming personality. She was a smart, talented, and involved lady who loved life and people. Her spirit and memory will live on in those of us who knew her.
Sincerely,
Robin

To all of Orpha's family,
Orpha was a patient of mine during her stay at Adirondack Tri-County. Though I only knew her a short time, she worked her way into my heart, and I am glad that she did. What a well educated, passionate, and caring person she was. I wish that I had met her years ago, as she has added so very much to my life. I will miss her. May your memories of Orpha be strong, and happy ones...
Sincerely, Debby Leigh

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
i am sorry to hear of her passing. i am going to miss her so much. she was the best tutor i have ever had. if you need anything just get a hold of me please.

To Orpha's family,
On behalf of the Hamilton County Democratic Committee, we are so sorry for your loss. We will miss her as a friend and will never forget all that she has taught us. Her dedication to what she believed in was what made her so special. Rest in peace dear friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Orphas' passing. I have many fond memories of her as a teacher to my children, and as a lifeguard at Lake Durant Campsite. She was a wonderful person, and will be missed by many.
