In Loving Memory of Donna Nadine Johnson Curry

June 28, 1951 – January 2, 2026

Donna Nadine Johnson Curry, a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, in her hometown of Pueblo, Colorado. Born in Pueblo on June 28, 1951, Donna returned her spirit to the same community where her journey began, leaving behind a legacy defined by selfless service and an unwavering devotion to her family.

A Life of Service

Donna found her true calling in caring for others. In 1987, she graduated from the Emily Griffith Opportunity School with her LPN license. This achievement launched a career that spanned over 20 years, during which she did exactly what she loved most: serving and taking care of people. Her patients and colleagues knew her as a woman of profound empathy and skill. After a career of dedication, Donna retired at the age of 55 to focus on her home and her heart.

A Heart for Family and Home

While her career was impactful, Donna's greatest joy and highest priority in life was her family. She was the cornerstone of her household, famously sacrificing her own needs to ensure her grandchildren and family members were always supported and loved.

Donna was also known for her incredible "green thumb." She found peace in nurturing her plants and had a natural talent for decorating, ensuring her home was always a beautiful and welcoming sanctuary for those she loved.

Family

Donna has been reunited in peace with those who preceded her in death: her beloved daughter,Lateefah Nious; her parents, Otis Mays and Juanita Johnson Mays; and her brothers,Nathaniel Mays and Calvin Hayes.

Her love and sacrifice live on through her surviving family:

Daughter: Evangeline Curry

Sister: Norma Mays White

Grandchildren: Nabria Carnahan, Nehemiah Givens, Khalil Eaton, Khamari Nious, Najee Nious, and Naveh Nious

Great-Grandson: Kuiper Carnahan
