Anne V. McCormack

QUEENSBURY Anne V. McCormack, a long time resident of Wallkill, N.Y. and more recently of Queensbury, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by family. Born on Aug. 30, 1920, in New York City, she was the daughter of Edward L. Killip and Mary Ellen Collopy Killip. She married William J. McCormack Jr. on Feb. 8, 1948. A lifelong homemaker, Anne was a member of the Americanettes, a semi-pro softball team that played at Madison Square Garden. She was employed as a machinist by Sperry Gyroscope of Long Island, N.Y. during World War II. Anne was a member of St. Charles Borromco Church of Gardener, N.Y., a charter member of the Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps., and a member of the Osiris Country Club. She was an avid golfer as well as a talented water color artist. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, William J. McCormack, three brothers, Edward Killip of Walden, N.Y., Francis Killip of Greenpoint, N.Y., William Killip of Queens, N.Y., and a sister, Alice Young of Richmond Hill, N.Y. Survivors include two sons, William J. McCormack III and his wife, Sue, of Frederick, Md., and Robert K. McCormack and his wife, Nancy, of Queensbury; grandchildren, Bryan and Colleen McCormack of Queensbury and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Doulin Funeral Home, 318 North Montgomery St., Newburgh, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at St. Charles Borromco Church, Route 44-55, Gardiner, N.Y.
