Jean Combs Obituary

WESTFIELD, Mass. Jean E. (Place) Combs, 83, of 330 Pochassic Road, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Glens Falls, Jean was raised in Hudson Falls, and was a 1942 graduate of Hudson Falls High School. She was a former resident of Huntington for 12 years before moving to Westfield in 1986. She leaves her husband of 58 years, Preston Combs; two sons, Ronald P. Combs of Hartford and Kevin W. Combs of Williamstown, Mass.; two daughters, Paula Phaneuf of Springfield, Mass. and Brenda E. Morrissey of Westfield, Mass.; two brothers, John Place of Baldwinville and Donald Place of Saratoga Springs; three sisters: Marie Zellar of Schenectady, Lorraine Wooddell of Hartford, and Lois Warner of Granville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday following the calling hours at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Union Cemetery Fort Edward. The family suggests memorial donations be sent to the charity of one's choice.
