Florence Siebert Obituary

QUEENSBURY Florence G. Siebert, 77, of Pinion Pine Lane, Queensbury, passed away at her home, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Florence put up a gallant, long, hard battle against Alzheimer's, being a trooper all along the way, staying tough and gentle-spirited most of the way. Born April 1, 1930, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Neva (Eicke) Hart. Florence loved her husband of 56 years, William, and was totally devoted to him, her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gathering family members together for day trips or weekly adventures. She loved to travel. In her younger years, she was active in her children's church and school organizations. Past positions she held were president and vice president of PTSA, Boy Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, piano player and longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 961 of Bolton Landing. Survivors include her loving husband, William Siebert, of Queensbury; one son, William W. Siebert of Castleton; two daughters, Carolynn Raven of Queensbury and Lorraine Beals and her husband, G. Stephen Beals Jr., of East Greenbush; five grandchildren: Hal Raven III and his companion, Erin Pellatt, of Malta, Jennifer Raven of Arizona, William J. Siebert of Albany, Brandon W. Siebert and his wife, Kailyn, of Delmar and Grant S. Beals of East Greenbush; one great-grandson, Jack William Raven of Malta, and many dear friends. Friends may call upon the family today, Dec. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. There will be no funeral services. A graveside ceremony will take place Monday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville, with the Rev. Sung Hee Lee, pastor of Bay Road Presbyterian Church, officiating. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Rev. Sung Hee Lee and Bay Road Presbyterian Church, Caritas, Glens Falls Hospital, Warren County Home Health Aides and High Peaks Hospice for all their support and professional care bestowed on Florence and her loved ones.
