Louise Lewis Obituary

Cambridge Louise Marie Lewis, 76, of East Main Street, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Saratoga Hospital, after a long illness. She was the widow of Harry Lewis, who died in 1977. Born Tuesday, May 12, 1931, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of Annabell Pinkerton. She spent her early years in Salem, graduating from Salem Washington Academy. She lived in Cambridge for the past 25 years. Louise worked at Nancy Shoe, Mack Molding and, most recently, at the Cambridge Diner for Bud Hungerford. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and trying her luck with scratch-off lottery tickets. She had a lot of good times with her best friend, Barbara Le Barron. She is survived by her only daughter, Denise Burch and her husband, Brian, of Cambridge; a sister, Patricia Roberts of Saranac Lake; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge. A memorial celebration of Louise's life will be held at 7 p.m.with the Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating. Louise's ashes will be buried with her husband at Evergreen Cemetery in Salem at the family's convenience. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 52, Cambridge, NY 12816.
