Donald Paull Obituary

NOKOMIS, Fla. Donald F. Paull Sr., 67, died suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, from a heart attack at his home. Don was born Oct. 12, 1940, in Utica, N.Y., the son of Albert R. and Hermenia E. (Rosen) Paull Sr. He was raised in Chestertown, N.Y., and attended Chestertown Central School before joining the U.S. Navy in 1958, where he worked on submarine engines. Don was a builder by trade and built many homes in the Adirondacks and Florida. Besides his love of family, Don loved racing boats as a young man, snowmobiles later and his latest love, racing his 2004 Dodge Ram "Rambo." He was predeceased in death by his father in 1980, mother in 1948, brother, Ronald in 1974, brother, Melvin in 1990, and granddaughter, Lauren Paulson in 2007. He is survived by his mother, Carrie, of Chestertown; wife, Joan whom he married in 1961; sons, Donald and Bryan; daughters, Jacque and Valorie, all residing in Texas, his daughters, Renee of New Jersey and Jamie of Florida; his brothers, Bernard of Clyde, N.Y., Albert (Dick) and his wife, Hazel, of Chestertown; sisters, Mary and her husband, Wilbur Weaver, of Lake George, Florence and her husband, Kelly Converse, of Chestertown; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins and very many close friends. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at the United Methodist Church in Chestertown, Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at 1 p.m. A reception to reminisce will follow at The Panther Mountain House in Chestertown.

My sympathies to Al and the rest of the family. I am so glad you didn't update his notice with a late picture because I remember vividly that handsome, devil-may-care black haired boy in those red knee pads Dave talked about. I also remember he was one of the guys who "initiated" me and others at Green Mansions. That was a rite of passage! God bless!
