James T. Gibson

WARRENSBURG James T. Gibson, 75, of Main Street, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at the Glens Falls Hospital, following a brief illness. Born March 15, 1932, in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Wallace and Anna (Cosgrove) Gibson. Jim was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Korean War. While residing on Long Island, Jim was an electrical engineer with the state of New York. He married Ruth E. (Long) Gibson in 1970, and the couple moved to Warrensburg following their retirement. They owned and operated the White House Lodge Bed and Breakfast on Main Street for many years. Jim was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Haskell Bros. Post 4821 VFW. His favorite pastimes included restoring and maintaining his vintage automobile collection, a 1930 model A sports coup, a 1950 Willy Jeep and a 1917 Model T Touring car. Besides his parents, his beloved wife of 37 years, Ruth Gibson, passed away on Aug. 28, 2006. Survivors include his aunt, Agnes Dallas-Cosgrove of Halifax, Nova Scotia; sister-in-law, Vera Brueckner of Largo, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Warrensburg with the Rev. Paul Cox officiating. Members of the Haskell Bros. Post 4821 VFW will hold a brief service prior to the Mass. Rite of committal will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. Friends may call on Jim's family one hour prior to the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haskell Bros. Post 4821 VFW, P.O. Box 574, Warrensburg, NY 12885.
