Dominick R. Costello

COSTELLO, DOMINICK R., 87 - of Brigantine, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a brave battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Dom was born in Bronx NY. He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Army. Dom was a longtime loyal employee of the City of New York Department of Sanitation. He moved to Brigantine in 1972 and worked several years as a school bus driver and jitney driver. Dom was an active member of many groups, charities and organizations including the Brigantine Sons of Italy, Brigantine Bocce Association, Brigantine Rams, Brigantine Little League, the Senior Citizens Bus, Meals on Wheels and the South Jersey Cancer Fund. Dom is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Mary (nee Marrone) and his children Anthony Costello (Terri), Michael Marzullo (Janet), Margaret White (John) and Robert Costello (Patty). He is also survived by his brothers Michael, Gregory and Phillip Costello, 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his first wife Margaret, sons Dominick Costello and Frank Marzullo, his brothers Sam and Anthony Costello and his grandsons Daniel and Anthony Costello. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration and viewing Sunday evening 7 to 9PM and Monday 8:30 to 9:30AM at the Keates-Plum Funeral Home, 3112 Brigantine Ave Brigantine. Mass of Christian Burial will follow Monday 10Am at St. Thomas Church, Brigantine. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
