Barbara A. Harris

HARRIS, BARBARA A., 71 - of Elkton, MD, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Born on November 2, 1936, in Pleasantville, she was the daughter of the late George and Ann Sutton Pfleghar. Mrs. Harris retired from American Express, Newark, DE, where she was an office manager. Prior to that, she operated her father's glass company, Mercury Glass, in Pleasantville. She had also owned and operated her own antique store, Eagles Nest at Perch Creek. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Harris enjoyed cooking, and doing arts and crafts. Survivors include her husband of 21 years, John J. Harris; former husband of 28 years, Edward J. "Bud" McNellis, Jr., Atlantic City; children, Cindy McNellis Eberwine, Egg Harbor Township, Michael McNellis, Tampa, FL, Brian McNellis, Egg Harbor Township, Colleen McNellis Haraldsson, Elkton, MD, Frank Harris, Charleston, SC, and John J. Harris, III, Newark, DE; and grandchildren, Shane, Casey, Brendan, Nolan, Morgan, Rosie, Megan, Amanda, Niklas, John, Heather, Emily, Erin, and Susann. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Monday, June 30, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Church, 454 Bow St., Elkton, MD. Visitation will be held in the church chapel from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Interment will follow in Rose Bank Cemetery, Calvert, MD.
