LANKIN, AL 69, - of Bridgeton, passed away Friday, July 11, 2008, at South Jersey HospiceCare Center in Bridgeton. AL LANKIN C0-OWNER OF AL'S SHOE'S. Born in Bridgeton he was an area resident most of his life. After graduating from Vineland High School in 1957, he enlisted in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. After his military discharge he worked at Kimble Glass and attended Temple University. On July 3, 1965 he married Theresa Riccobono. Al was employed by Miles Shoe Store prior to owning and operating Al's Shoes with his late wife Theresa and son Brian from 1979 to the present. He played basketball, track and football for Vineland High and was a member of the 1955 football state championship team. Al was a board member and past secretary of the Vineland Downtown Improvement District. He was an avid sport fan of all the Philadelphia teams and had fond memories of attending the 1960 Eagles/Green Bay Packer championship game. Al especially enjoyed the boardwalk and beach with his late wife Theresa. He is survived by his son Jeffrey Lankin, son and his wife, Brian & Colleen Lankin and granddaughter Arabella Theresa Lankin. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa (Riccobona) Lankin July 2006 and his father and mother, Max and Pearl (Lewis) Lankin and sister Phyllis Marcus. A church visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th from 9 am to 11 am followed by the funeral liturgy at 11:00 am from St. Isidore The Farmer Church, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Vineland.
