John B. Garry

GARRY, JOHN B., 83, - of Somers Point, passed away Wednesday morning, July 30, 2008. John was born in The Bronx, New York, and was the son of the late Nancy and Bernard. John received his B.S. in engineering from the University of Florida, and after working for Pratt & Whitney and General Electric in New England, he moved to Somers Point to work for the FAA at the FAA Tech Center, from which he retired in 1995. John had a million stories, and he loved to share them with family and friends, both old and new. John loved to golf and thoroughly enjoyed his years with "The Linksmen." He had a very special place in his heart for children and animals and was clearly the hands-down favorite of all the family's dogs and cats. He is predeceased by his daughter Sharon and his brother Gerard. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years, Margaret (Peg), son Kevin of Washington D.C., daughter Eileen of Washington D.C., son Bill of Northfield and daughter Tara of Somers Point, three grandchildren, Diantha, Michael and Jennifer, and his sisters Marilyn Holtz and Janet Sguera. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday evening from 6-8pm at the Middleton-Stroble & Zale Funeral Home 304 Shore Road, Somers Point. Mass will be celebrated 10am Saturday morning at St. Josephs Church, Shore Road Somers Point. Burial private Monday in New York.
