Dawn Hillgrube Obituary
HILLGRUBE, DAWN HOLLISTER, 69, - of Langhorne, PA, died Sunday, August 24, 2008 at St. Mary medical Center, Langhorne, PA. Mrs. Hillgrube was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Hillgrube. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Sr. and Florence Novotny Day of Colonie, NY. Mrs. Hillgrube was raised in Colonie and Albany, NY. She attended Roessleville and school 24 grade school and graduated from St. Agnes school in Loudonville. After graduation, she attended Flight Attendants School in California and was an airline hostess for Continental Airlines until she met and married her husband, Samuel A. Hillgrube in 1958. Dawn was a stay at home mom and raised four beautiful daughters. Her main past time was enjoying her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins. She also enjoyed shopping and traveling with her husband before he passed away in 2007. Mrs. Hillgrube is survived by her four daughters, Jackie Hillgrube and her husband Michael DeMaio of Yardley, Dawn Kimberly DePerro of Langhorne, Stacy Robin Satero and her Douglas of Galloway, and Christi Smith and her husband James of Collings Lake. Also survived by her 13 grandchildren, her great-grandson and her brother Robert H. Day, Jr. and his wife Mary of Albany, NY and his children Felicia, Robert III, Marshall, Anthony, Dawn and William and their children. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 9:00AM until her Funeral Service 11:00AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro. Interment will be held on 11:30AM Friday, August 29, 2008 at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, 421 Curie Blvd., Phila., PA 19104-6160.

dawn was the reason working at the taj was so enjoyable for me. she travelled to the beat of her own drum and i admired her for it. you should know that your mother and grandmother made her mark in this world and will be fondly remembered.

I can't believe that you are gone, I am still in shock that you left us so fast. I love you and miss you dearly, but I have wonderful memories to take with me! My husband reminded me of the first day he met you and thought you were my mother, with a sly look you told him "hunny I am the Grandmother!".... We will miss your charm that lights up the room! Our chain is once again broken. I can not wrap my head around the fact that I lost both of you within a short fourteen months.
Mommy is a word I took for granted.
She is the one that kept us planted.
Our love for her keeps us going.

We lost the battle but she ultimately won for in the end the two became one.

Aunt Dawn was one of the funniest,friendliest,caring,person you would ever meet. I am so sorry I can not make the service. But I send my condolences to the family,and she will always be in my prayers...

Hey G-mom. I just wanted everyone to know how important this amazing lady is to me. I am going to miss her dearly. She is one of the most caring and fun loving people I have ever known. I hope she is up in heaven dancing away with my grandfather. G-mom, you have taught me so much threw the years and have always been there for me. I could not of asked for a better bestfriend. I am so lucky to been able to spend the last month of your life by your side everyday. I could not of asked for a better gift. Please watch over me. I would like to share how special and wonderful my aunt Dawn is to me. Aunt Dawn always gave the most amazing hugs,could always make you lauagh out loud,and made you feel beautiful even on your worst day.Aunt Dawn always told you she loved you and had a way of letting you know she was proud of you. I was a teenage friend of Dawn's at "The Greeks" (Madison Sweet Shop) in Albany. We had a Reunion on Saturday and I had everyone sign a couple of cards for Dawn as I had found out she was in very poor health. Dawn was a very beautiful person and will be missed by many. My condolences to her family, especially my friend, Dawn Donnelly.

To Dawn's family....Dawn and I worked together @ the Taj for many years. We traveled together with Louella and Joan. I miss her..she was a very wonderful person and I know that she loved all of her children and grandchildren.

Was very sad to see Dawn had passed away,we go way back as Dawn and I had hung around together for a few years,she was always a great person and of course beautiful besides, I moved from Albany so I lost contact,as her brother use to let me know how she was when I would go to the bank,she is a great loss to all and will alwys be remembered with love
