Concetta Pelaez

PELAEZ, CONCETTA (NEE MONTANILE), 77, - of Galloway, passed into eternity with her children by her side on August 24, in Galloway. Known to her friends as Connie, Concetta was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 13, 1931 to the late Frank and Mary Montanile. She graduated Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn, NY in June 1948. Connie loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She was hardworking and down-to-earth and loved gardening and spending time at home with her children and many grandchildren. A resident of Pomona since 1971, Connie was known as a quiet and friendly neighbor. She was also a dog-lover who cared for several of man's best friends that were very special to her over the years. Beloved and cared for by the people of The Health Center at Galloway for the last year, Connie faced serious illness with characteristic courage and dignity that carried her through to heaven's door. She is survived by her children, Louis Cimino of California, Teresa Ferro (Hubert) of South Carolina, Maria McCarthy (Edward) of South Carolina, Joseph Pelaez of Egg Harbor Twp, John Pelaez of Egg Harbor twp, Donna Ireland (James) of Galloway, Andrea Jacobsen (Paul) of Egg Harbor Twp, Mark Pelaez of Galloway and Tina Saccoccio of Upper Twp. She is predeceased by her brother Mattia Montanile, daughter Laura McGloin, daughter-in-law Cheryle Pelaez and grandson Kenneth Rush. She is survived by one brother, four sisters, 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am Wednesday, August 27, at The Church of The Assumption in Pomona. A visitation will be held from 9:30am until the time of services.
