Sandy Kraft Obituary
KRAFT, SANDY 81, - of Mays Landing, previously of Ventnor, Bonita Springs and Delray Beach, FL, passed away peacefully, August 21st, with her husband by her side. Sandy was born on Thanksgiving afternoon November 25, 1926 to Rose and Sam Ackerman of Philadelphia. She was the youngest of four children and as a teenager, helped to manage her father's business in Philadelphia. Later in life Sandy became a very successful realtor and real estate manager in the Atlantic City and down beach areas. She also owned and managed a beautiful Guest House in Atlantic City, as well as, several of her father's properties. She enjoyed telling stories of her celebrity guests including the Steel Pier divers and Diving Horse girl. Sandy was also active in local politics in Atlantic City in the early 60's where she was Judge of the Elections. In later years, Sandy was a dedicated member of the Ventnor School PTA and was past President of Marvenac Chapter of ORT. She was also involved in raising funds for Deborah Hospital. Throughout her life, Sandy always put her family first and was known to say, "If you have your health you have everything." She loved people, and was a gracious and compassionate woman who made everyone feel comfortable engaging them in conversation easily. She had a life long love of learning. Sandy loved music, especially opera, and was known to sing opera, Russian and Yiddish folk songs, and show tunes. She was an avid reader with a great sense of humor. Sandy traveled around the country extensively before settling down in Florida for over 25 years. She recently moved back to New Jersey to be near her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 58 1/2 years, Leonard, daughter, Shelley of Hamilton, son, Stuart of Egg Harbor Township, daughter, Sindy (Karl) Kraft Baker of Northfield, daughter, Lyn of Hollywood Beach, FLA, grandchildren, Christina, Brian, Joshua, and Kelsey Kraft, and Lucas Baker, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her granddaughters, Lauren and Alaina Baker, predeceased her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, graveside services, Thursday 10am at the Beth Kehillah Cem., Egg Harbor Twp. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association 3 Eves Dr. Suite 310 Marlton, NJ 08053 or to the RNS Heart and Cancer Fund, 7223 Ventnor Ave., Ventnor, NJ 08406.
