Frank Dorofee Obituary

DOROFEE, FRANK W., (Sonny), 50 - of Mystic Island, died "On Thursday, August 28, 2008. This beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle and most of all, friend, left his mark on all that he met in this life and now his free spirit now rides in the wind. Sonny was a devoted husband and father to wife Lydia and children Sonny Jr., Michael and Sarah, a loving son to mother and late father Susanna and Chuck Dorofee. He was both friend and brother to Chick (Deb) Dorofee, Candy (John) Phister and Kelee (John) Gudzinas. Sonny surrounded himself with people, he loved spending as much time with his many nephews and nieces as possible. A supervisor for 28 years with the Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority, during his time there, he was asked to lead his local union chapter because of his excellent talent for negotiations. He was an active Member of ABATE and later MRANJ for many years. A true lover of life, Sonny enjoyed everything to its fullest. Among his many passions were riding his Harley's, listening to music, watching old westerns, picking crabs and of course adding to his award winning tattoos. Sonny will be missed greatly and forever in our hearts. We wish him wind in his hair, sun on his face and peace and harmony on his final journey. Do svidaniya. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Italian American Social Club, 105 Falcon Dr., Mystic Island, NJ 08037. Sonny enjoyed life and was fun to be around. He did not miss anything. Full of life. A free spirit. I was honored to have a few adventures with him. Our deepest sympathy to Lyd and the kids. We will both miss him.

I really don't know what to say. I can't believe this happend. My uncle Sonny was bigger than life and thought he would live forever. I am going to deeply miss him. Aunt Lydia, If you read this I want you to know that you are stronger than I thought could be possible in one woman and I admire you. You really are such a beautiful person and i love you. Lil' Sonny, Michael and sarah....You guys are amazing and I love you sooo much. Mom, aunt kelee, and uncle chick, & grandmom, what else can I say but I love you and together as a family we can handle anything.

You know the funeral director said something that really stuck with me. He said to us.." just think. Every time you see a cloud in the sky, don't look at it as a cloud...think of it as a puff of smoke trailing behind your harley" And you know ever since...whenever I see a Puffly looking cloud that is what i think of.

Uncle Sonny....I am gonna miss you soooo much. I am sorry I didn't make it to your party...Ill regret it everyday. If I would have known it would be the last time I would see you nothing would have kept me away. I love you very much...and I am lucky to have had you as my uncle. Rest in peace uncle sonny. You are loved.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
