Joseph Miles "Pop" Butler Sr.

BUTLER, JOSEPH MILES, SR., "POP", 77 - of Galloway Township, and Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at ARMC (Mainland). He was born in Pleasantville, raised in Absecon, and has lived in Galloway since 1958. He graduated Holy Spirit High School Class of 1949. He was a Lineman with IBEW Local #351. He was an Usher at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for many years, a longtime original member of the G.T.A.A. and volunteered at A.C. Speedway. Mr. Butler served his country honorably during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #430 of Galloway Township. He loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR, Baltimore Colts, and especially Kyle's baseball games. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Adele Bruckler Butler; his children Joseph Butler, Jr. (Kim) of Port Republic, Patty Brantley (Jim) of EHT, Joan Butler of Galloway, and Matthew Butler of Absecon; his grandchildren; Joey III and Kyle Butler, Thomas Jr. Tony and Tricia Ale, Amanda Butler, Bobbi Lynn and Jamie Lavigna, Heather, Jimmy and Amber Brantley; his great-grandchildren Julie, Thomas III, Mikey, Lilliana, and Christian; his brother Michael Butler (Jo Anna) of Egg Harbor City; his sisters Joan Rausch of Absecon and Nicole Ericson (Dave) of RI; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other close relatives and friends. His Viewing and Visitation will be 9 to 11 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Absecon, where his Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM.
