To Willie "Pops",

When I first came here in '04, I wasn't expecting to know anyone quite like Willie. But after 4 years here, it was quite apparent that I would get to know someone as genuine as "Pops". He was always upbeat, relaxed, cool and laidback. Always standing outside our apartment building hanging out with his friends and always in his hand was a Country Club wearing his favorite purple shirt having a good time shared by all. I lived across the hall from you, Willie. You were taken from us too soon. God must have had a plan for you to do greater things. One thing's for sure, He's got one of the best people in heaven to lead His army of angels. Willie, you are definitely living in a much better place away from all this misery and pain. Living across the hall from you was a definite honor and I am glad to have the privilege to know a damn good man such as you. I'm not going to say goodbye, I'm going to say so long, because I know that we, along with many others, will see you again. God bless you and keep you. You have rightfully earned your place in the hall of God. Lynette and I will miss you and we love you. You will always be my lifelong brother and my eternal friend. God bless you and your wonderful family.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
