Bart was a man who helped me out and made a huge difference in my life in many ways. You were like the grandfather I never knew. You will be missed deeply.

What can I say? This man was a friend, a mentor, and a personal hero to me. Always an inspiration and always offering an oasis from the storms of life.
Bart had an inestimable impact on my life and development as a human being. Whatever eloquence and aptitude I may happen to possess as a writer I learned under the tutelage of this wise and seasoned sage.
Bart shined like the sun at mid-day, simply a radiant person with a brilliance bar none. I never met anyone how had such vigor and zest for living as he. He inspired like no other and brought a sense of humor that reminded me of a ray of stellar sunshine.
You could hot hope to meet a more personable, friendly, humane, generous, and gracious individual. A man of deep compassion for animals and the underdog as well as one with strong convictions.
I will ALWAYS hold him in the very highest esteem. Peace be with you Bart, always...and much love to you for the goodness and kind deeds you perpetually performed. I am left with a legacy of memories, so many memories that will never fade away. God Bless and Godspeed my dear friend!

MY FRIEND AND POET.... WHEN I RECIEVED THE NEWS, IT WAS SAD BECAUSE BART WAS FULL OF LIFE AND LOVE. HE KNEW ALLOT OF THINGS.... HE SHARED HIS POETRY WITH ME AS I DID WITH HIM...... HE HAD THE A STYLE THAT I CAN NOT COMPARE TO MINE, HE WROTE FREQUENTLY BUT WHEN HE DID IT WAS GOLD. GOLD THAT HE WAS, ALWAYS SMILING WITH ALL AND SHINNING LIKE THE SUN...... HE DIDN'T SAY MUCH WHEN YOU TALK TO HIM BUT HE WAS SHARPE WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE FOR LIFE. THOSE WHO REALLY KNOW HIM WAS BLESSED, WHOEVER DIDNT MISSED OUT ON AN ANGEL. AN ANGEL HE WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE SITTING UP IN HEAVEN WITH A STOGGIE AND A STORY. GOD BLESS MY FRIEND......

Your time may be over
On Earth, this is true
But your blessings in Heaven
Are just beginning for you.
You've left us happy memories
And poems from your pen
You're an inspiration to all~
Until we meet again
God Bless you Uncle Bart

Uncle Bart, it's Misty
Your kitty cat, you know
You took good care of me
With the love you always showed.
Of a new home, I am a part.
I am happy, but miss you still
You'll always be in my heart
Forget you? I never will.

His Way~ Ode to Uncle Bart
The soft crash of a wave
Caw of gull on warm breeze
Deep purr of contentment
Echoes of summer fun~ wafting thru trees
94 years worth of sound
Indelible bliss
A soundtrack of happiness
The choice was all his
A brisk dip in the sea
A lingering smoke in the park
A morning ride on the boards
Tossing lawn darts 'til dark
94 years worth of fun
Indelible bliss
From birth thru the epilogue
The choice was all his
A deep, hearty laugh
Always a kind, uplifting word
A voice only raised in worship
From him that's what we heard
With paintbrush and prose
He deftly left his mark
Forever in our memory,
Doing it his way, dear Uncle Bart~
Your loving niece and ardent fan,
Kathryn Adele Hufnal Martino

Bart, I will dearly miss you. You've meant a lot to me in my young life. I may be 29 years old and may have only been 12 when I met you, but I will never forget those "Wildwood Days" when I'd come over to your house with Danny,Sean Big Bro and many others to pay you a visit. I love you Bart, and I'm very sad that I will not be able to introduce you to my new wife and my daughter like I had hoped. I'll always remember and miss you Barrrrrrrrrrt. Take care and may you rest in peace.

I remember when I first met 'Bart'. It was because of a very good friend of mine Dan McNeill. The first impression I got from Bart was that I was in the presence of greatness. Bart was intellegent, kind, funny, well read and had a love of animals. I loved the stories he wrote and I loved listening to him. When I moved from NJ to California and then to Florida I enjoyed hearing about Bart and his quips about a friend of his. And I have to admit I found them quite funny and to the point. I will miss you Bart. You were and still are very much loved by your friends and family. And there will be a great emptiness in our hearts by your passing. God bless old friend. I look forward to seeing you in the after life!
