Leonard Gatter Obituary



GATTER, LEONARD EUGENE "GENE" - of Egg Harbor Township, passed away on October 17, 2008 at home. Gene was past president of Public Savings Bank in Willow Grove, PA, a board member of the First Pennsylvania Bank, and treasurer of Germantown Hospital. He attended Germantown Academy, was a graduate of Albright College and also attended the Wharton School. He was a member of the Germantown Lions Club and the Pastorius Club, and served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952. He loved Golf and the Philadelphia Eagles and was a member of the Atlantic City Greate Bay and Philadelphia Country Clubs. Gene also loved deep sea fishing and boating spending many wonderful days on his boat the "Makira." Gene is survived by his wife of 47 years Jo Anne; two sons Stephen and his wife Harriet, and Jeffrey and his wife Joan; and three grandchildren, Courtney, Kristin and Evan. Friends are invited to visitation with the family 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood, followed by a Memorial Service at 4 p.m. Burial will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia. Contributions in his memory may be made to AtlantiCare Hospice, 1406 Doughty Rd., Pleasantville, NJ 08232.

Gene Gatter was a true gentleman, generous and kind. He mentored many people in a quiet way and has influenced more people in a positive way then he probably ever realized. Paula and I extend our sympathies with great fondest and happy memories.
