Ralph Bartman Inman

INMAN, RALPH BARTMAN, 86 - of Mays Landing, formerly of Linwood. Ralph went to be with his Lord and family and friends before him on Saturday, October 18, surrounded by loved ones. Ralph was born April 8, 1922 in Salem, NJ to Cornelius and Lavinia Inman. They moved to Atlantic City and then to Linwood in 1928. The first time Ralph saw the love of his life, Mildred, she was wearing a bright red sweater. They fell in love and married in 1944 with 64 wonderful years together. Ralph, formerly of Linwood for 58 years, is a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy as a gunner's mate on a merchant marine ship in the North Atlantic. Upon his discharge they had a convenience and ice cream store on Bay Avenue in Ocean City. In 1948 he began is lifelong employment as a railroad Signalman with the Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines continuing this job with Conrail. Ralph was a life long member of Central United Methodist Church, and a member of American Legion Post #352 in Somers Point. Ralph was an avid Phillies, Eagles and Sixers fan, never missing a game on television with Mildred. He is sure the Phillies will win the World Series. Ralph will be greatly missed by his wife Mildred, a son Ralph Edward and wife Sharon, and a daughter Nancy Lancaster. Ralph has four grandchildren, Daniel Inman, Traci Signer, Craig Inman and wife Julie, and Susie Shufford. Ralph has seven great-grandchildren. Darrian and Jaiden Shufford, Matthew Signer, and Gavin, Sophia, Chase and Keeley Inman. Ralph will also be missed by a host of relatives and friends. A viewing will be held at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield from 9:30 to 11:30am on Thursday, October 23, followed by a memorial service at 11am. Burial will be held at Friends Central Cemetery, Linwood immediately following. Arrangements entrusted to and condolences may be conveyed to the family via Adams-perfect.com
