Alfred Thomas Obituary

THOMAS, ALFRED II, "AL" 73 - of Cape May, passed away in his home Monday, October 27, 2008. Formerly from Drexel Hill, PA and Medford, he and his wife retired to Cape May in 1995. Al graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1953 and Drexel University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering 1958 and a M.S. in Solid Mechanics 1965. He was the FMS site standup branch head for the Research and Engineering Group Support Equipment Department NAWC at Lakehurst. Al enjoyed his Cape May retirement years pursuing his passion of building and flying R/C aircraft. He spent many happy days at the flying field with is R/C buddies. He felt fortunate to find good neighbor friends with whom he shared many a joyous occasion. He adored his family and will be forever missed by his loving wife of 43 years Joan (Robbins); his daughters Laura Groh (Joseph) and Robin Forcier (Bruce); his six grandchildren Joseph, Patrick, Daniel, Stephen, Lindsey and Jacob; and his sister Judith Frysinger (Bob). Al was predeceased by his parents E. Bruce and Marian Thomas of Drexel Hill, PA. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008,11:00 AM at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Baysbore Rd., N. Cape May, NJ, where friends may call from 10:30 AM. Int. private. In lieu of flowers and in appreciation for the care and support provided by the entire staff of Hope Community Cancer Center, donations may be made to "Love of Linda Cancer Fund", P O Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260.
