Robert Schmidt Obituary

SCHMIDT, ROBERT PAUL, 68 - of Little Egg Harbor, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday November 8, 2008. He was born and raised in Paterson, before moving to Little Egg Harbor in 1986. He served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired as a custodial foreman from Pinelands Regional Middle School. He enjoyed watching the New York Mets and Giants and his classic westerns. He loved to fish and hunt and spend time with his family, especially his wife and grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Theresa Schmidt of Paterson. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Betty, his two sisters Barbara Schmidt of Manahawkin, and Patricia Schmidt of Whiting, one brother Joseph "Jack" Schmidt and wife Marie of Elmwood Park, his four children, daughter Erika Barolet and husband Todd of North Carolina, daughter Cindy Barker and husband Bryan of Waretown, son Robert Schmidt Jr. and wife Joana of Little Egg Harbor, son Joseph Schmidt of Little Egg Harbor and his six grandchildren Nathan, Lucas, and Andrew Barolet, Kayla Barker, Robert Schmidt III and Lexxi Schmidt. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday November 12, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Theresa's R.C. Church, Little Egg Harbor, followed by burial at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Paterson. Viewing hours will be on Tuesday November 11, 2008 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 to 9 a.m. at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Rd. Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Bob was a great friend to all here at Pinelands Regional School District and especially to his coworkers and fellow PEA members. We will miss him and know that he is at peace.
