Gregory Turnbull Obituary



TURNBULL, GREGORY B. - of Marmora, peacefully left this earth at the University of Pennsylvania Wissahickon Hospice on April 26th after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving wife Marie, a daughter Kathleen Turnbull (Palm Beach Gardens, FL), sons Gregory Turnbull Jr. (Exton, PA), Lt. Col. USAF James Eric Turnbull, wife Grace, granddaughter Faith (Spring City, PA), and Daniel Turnbull (Beesley's Pt.), and stepson Douglas Little, wife Emily, grandchildren Fiona and Avery (Dorothy). Two brothers, Robert Turnbull (Eileen) of Beesley's Pt. and Art Turnbull (Carole) of Absecon, a sister, Ave Longley (Wynnewood, PA) as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Julia, brothers Edward, Thomas, William, John, and sisters Elizabeth Henzy and Helen Douglass. Greg was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, long-time employee of Auto Car, Exton PA, and was active in Boy Scouts and Little League. In later life, Greg was a member of the board of directors of the Mutual Beneficial Association and correspondent for their trade publication, a lifetime member and commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Posts of Somers Point and was a past Atlantic County Commander and Vice Commander of the American Legion. Greg's warm smile, dry sense of humor, and positive attitude with be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Contributions in Greg's honor may be made to Vineland Veteran's Memorial Home attn: Activities Dept. 524 Northwest Blvd. Vineland NJ 08360. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 2nd at11:00am from the Church of the Resurrection, 200 W. Tuckahoe Rd. Marmora, NJ. Arrangements by Godfrey Funeral Home. Marie, We were so sorry to hear of Greg's illness and passing. Bob and I have many wonderful memories of holiday dinners and lazy days at the pool in the summer. He was a wonderful person and will be sorely missed.

Marie, I just recently learned how ill Greg was and was deeply saddened when I read the paper today. Greg was especially kind to me always.I cannot make his Mass Saturday, but I shall pray for him when I go to Mass this Sunday. t

Marie and family: Greg will be so missed by all who knew him - I especially remember Greg being one of a few who took the time to visit my Don when he was so ill - this was one of Greg's compassion for others.He will always be in my prayers .
