Quran was a student at my school last year.As his principal I had the pleasure of watching him develop relationships with his peers and his teachers. I recall his absolutely adorable face and big smile- how loving he could be.
He had many friends- friends that, day in and day out he walked to and from school with- friends who, to this day, bring up his name.

Everyone at the Wilkinsburg Academy and The Wilkinsburg School District sends their deepest condolences to the family of Quran. May he rest in peace.

Sincerely,

Dr. Magi Berger

To the family of Quran,

I was Quran's Fifth grade teacher in Wilkinsburg. During my year with him I found him to be a lovable boy that had a heart of gold. He had the best smile that could warm up the room. While I worked with him he wrote a book of poems that was then published with his picture on the book. I have used this book since to teach poetry to my children. As much as I treasure this book I would like to let his mother know that if she would like to have it I can mail it to her. My heart and prayers are with you and your family.

To the loving family of little Quran: I just wanted to share with you my experience with the little angel who feared nothing..the little angel who was just so free in life. My son was a friend of Quran's and I had the pleasure of having him in my company over the summer. I am from Uptown and over the summer my family had several cook outs on the beach. Quran showed up to just about every one with his big cousin Walter. Of course they would bring with them all the kids from the block and they would all just kind of stand around and try to see if there was enough food to go around. With all the extra friends they would bring with them sometimes it was not enough but we always worked it out so at least they got a hot dog or a burger. Well the first cook out of the summer was when I formally met little Quran and he and his cousin Walter had come up to the beach and of course they brought all the kids from the block with them. Well on that hot afternoon as all the kids sat around and migled with each other I over heard them trying to get each other to be the first one to ask for something to eat and no one wanted to be that person. You know how kids are...so I did not say a word I just wanted them to work that out amongst themselves like kids do. So here is this group of teenagers 14,15 and 16 who all where scared to ask for a burger or a hotdog and the one little guy who looked like he was just a baby next to these guys came up to me and said Ms. Tiki can I have a burger. So I said sure baby what do you want on it? As he walked away I laughed inside because that little boy reminded me of myself. He was never scared to ask and even though he was the youngest he did not let the older boys talk him into speaking for them all. As he walked back over to the boys enjoying his burger you could see the envy of the other boys who was with him. The youngest (Quran) of them all had more heart then all of them. And as I watched and observed the whole thing I remember saying to myself ,he has no idea the lesson he has shown these boys who were older than he was. So one by one they all came up to me and asked for either a burger or a hotdog and it was the cutest thing. But it took the little guy with a lot of heart to give the big guys with little heart the courage to do what he did so easily.
I say all this to say that at 12 that little angel was touching and changing the lives of those around him. He was not ment to be just another kid I knew from around the way. From that day forward Quran left a lasting impression on me one that could never be forgotten. He never had to ask for another burger he always had one with his name on it!! He did not fear life and at his tender age he left a lasting impression on so many. We find ourselves asking God why but God knows that he sent little Quran here on a mission and his mission here on this earth is complete. Quran wil continue to touch all who knew and loved him as the free spirit he was. I get it now.....he was so free in this life because he was heaven sent. He feared nothing as if he was the angel we all know he is now. There is power and peace in that. Quran I will never forget you!!! My prayers are with you Tamara and when it feels like you can't go on just remember that God does not give you more than you can handle. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!! You will continue to be apart of prayers.

In this moment of pain and sorrow words are not enogh to console the mother of this young, precious and full of life young man that God decided to take along with HIM. Another ANGEL is with GOD to watch over his brothers and sisters. This young man that i did not know, but i feel deeply the pain and sorrow just as much as if it was one of my own. I beg you Tamara to find peace with GOD and talk to HIM because he listens to us when we talk. Think that your little angel is looking down at you, and i know deep inside that he does not want to see MOMMY sad!!!! MAY GOD BLESS YOU NOW AND ALWAYS,,,,MY SINCERE SYMPATHY,,,

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

My condolences go out to you and your loving family. No words can replace the pain your feeling now at this time of your loss. May God be with you and your family in this time of sorrow. Talk to God for He is the hearer of all prayers and He can make it a little easier for you to deal with the pain. Remember now that Quran is now resting peacefully until God calls him out of his resting place into a new world with no pain or sorrow, no loss of life or any of the things we face here on earth today. My prayers go out to you and your family. Tamara let God be your strength and your stronghold as He has been for so many of his people He will make you strong and help you to remember and carry on the love of Quran within your heart where he can never to be replaced. Again my sympathy go out to you and your family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Quran's passing. I was his former basketball coach in Egg Harbor Township (Rec) and feel fortunate to have had that time with both Quran and his family. He was a star on the court and proved to be one off the court as well. He will remain in our family's thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Rick Lindsay and family
