dear colleen,kathy,jim & chris,
please accept my sympathy at the passing of your dad. i am sorry i couldn't come to his viewing. what i remember most about your dad was when he taught me to do cpr, i just couldn't seem to get it. he was very patient with me and i finally learned it and to this day i still could do it if i had to because he took that extra time to show me. my prayers are with you.

A Poem Title Alright
Dad greeted St. Peter
“Alright” Dad said.
“What are you doing here
While I am laying in bed?”
“I just came down
From Heaven’s gate.
C’mon,” Peter said.
“Don’t make me wait.”
I have questions to ask
Before I go
There are many things
I need to know.
Will I see my Dad?
Will he see me?
He’s been gone, you know
Since ’63.
How ‘bout my Mom
She’s so great
I haven’t seen her
Since ’88.
And how ‘bout my family
Who is here with me now
Can I still see them?
Can you do it? But how?
St. Peter said,
“Put your fears to rest
For you we have
Nothing but the best.”
A deluxe suite for you
With rooms galore
All you do
Is open each door.
You’ll see Mom and Dad
And Gran and Aunt Lea
You’ll see Daisy and
Uncle Ed and Aunt Betty.
Look out this window
And down below
And you’ll see your family
And watch them grow.
You’ll see Jim and Joanne
And Earl and Layne
As they go to their field
For their baseball game.
You’ll see Chris and Michele
On the beach, too.
And you’ll see Chris and Joe
At the Cape May Zoo.
At Torresdale Swim Club
Is Coleen and Jeff,
Kathy and JP
Having Lobsterfest.
You’ll see Jeff dive at meets
At LaSalle, and Matt swim
And off to work every day
Is party girl Kim.
And at Father Judge
You’ll see Jake, Joe and Jim
As they go to their classes
Play soccer and swim.
My Pop Pop went here
But now he’s in heaven
He won the Swim Champs
In 1957.
“Now you know”, said St. Peter
You’ll see them each day
As they go to the shore
And have fun, work and play.
There’s more you should know
‘Bout this heavenly place
We threw in some extras
To light up your face.
Here’s Boulevard Pools
With your own lifeguard chair
And Jimmy’s Barber Shop
When you cut your hair.
Here’s your very own pond
Filled with your fish
And your very own pantry
To eat what you wish.
Tastykakes, pretzels,
Is it time for lunch?
Should I have a cookie
Or Captain Crunch?
If you’re interested
We have a swim team
We also have golf
With an 18 hole green.
Now come with me
For a short ferry ride
It’s time to take you
To the other side.
When we get to the gate
We go through a procedure.
Everyone there will be
So glad to see you.
Just walk up to the table.
Sign your name in this space
And soon you’ll meet God
And talk face to face.
The gates opened up
And St. Peter was talking
He said, “Jim, follow me
And just keep on walking.”
Before him stood God
With a hose in his hand
Watering the grass
Over all His land.
St. Peter said, “God,
Full of power and might
This is Jim, let him in?
And God said, “Alright.”
“Hold out your hand,”
St. Peter said.
“Here’s Phase 10 cards.
Play with Bud, Bob, Frank and Ed.”
They all welcomed him
And hugged him so tight.
“Hello!” they all said.
And Dad said, “Alright.”

I knew Kell many many years ago at Boulevard Pool. He was also willing to help anyone with swimming instruction. An all-around nice guy for sure.
