Karen Sawyer Obituary



SAWYER, KAREN MICHEL, 52 - of Egg Harbor Township, departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 10, 2007. She was born in Jersey City, attended the local public school system and Snyder High School. Karen was a former member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Jersey City. She relocated to Egg Harbor Township. Her father Lester Sawyer, preceded her in the afterlife. Survivors: two daughters, Michel Whitherspoon and her husband Garland of Pleasantville and Genesis Faulkner Muhammad of Egg Harbor Township; two sons, Stanley "Jahmal" Brown, II of Kansas City, MO and Melvin Brown and his wife Crystal of Annapolis, MD; her mother Malvina Sawyer of Jersey City; three brothers, Lester Sawyer, Walter Sawyer and Richard Sawyer; 11 grandchildren; a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2007 at Grace Tabernacle Church, 224 Shadeland Ave., Pleasantville, where friends may view from 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo.
