Bettie Doss Obituary
She was the daughter of the late Hubert North and Hilda Helen Otey Rodgers, and the widow of Harry L. Doss Jr.; and was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth D. Rose, Lucille D. Roberts and Florine D. Panian.
Mrs. Doss is survived by her sons, Rodger L. Doss (Vickie Bryant) of Colonial Heights, Dana E. Doss and wife, Carol, of Prince George; daughter, Eileen Doss Kidd of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Lindsay D. Kidd, Jeffrey T. Kidd; sisters, Mary R. White and husband, Jim, of Upper Marlboro, Md., Dana R. Tyree of Lynchburg, Va., Ruby R. Kirby of Salem, Va.; sister-in-law, Pauline D. Lindsey and husband, Richard, of Colonial Heights; steprandchildren, Donald Martin and wife, Gail, Brenda Sadler, Becky Hanshew and husband, Mark stepgreat-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, with the Rev. Dr. John R. Turner officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon to proceed to the graveside. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Flowers are welcomed or contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, P.O. Box 6359, Glen Allen, VA 23058. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
