William Seal Obituary

William Francis Seal Jr., 56 of Suffolk, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at his home with his family present.

Born Feb. 20, 1952, in Norfolk,he was the son of Virginia Hall Seal Bain and the late William F. Seal Sr.

He had a love for the outdoors and he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a dedicated blood donor with the Red Cross and a fundraiser for the Special Olympics. He donated many hours to coaching Little League baseball and Pop Warner football.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Catherine Wyatt Seal of Suffolk; a son, William "Richie" Seal and fiancé, Myna Cisco, of Zuni; a mother-in-law, Peggy Hobbs Wyatt of Hobbsville; four adopted grandchildren, Missy Small, Nikki, AJ and Austin Rawles; and many friends and family.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at the Purviance Chapel in Wakefield. The family requests that visitors wear casual attire. A graveside memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, in Waverly Cemetery in Waverly. Memorial donations can be made to Special Olympics Virginia Polar Plunge One Columbus Center, Ste. 677, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. The family is being served by J.T. Morriss & Son, Purviance Chapel of Wakefield. Condolences may be posted at our Web site, www.jtmorriss.com.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. He will be greatly missed by the DOC family and especially SHCC. I will remember his joking ways and many stories as the Hearings Officer. May God continue to see you thru this difficult time.
