He Laid Heaven Aside for Me

It was two thousand years ago, our Lord took a stand,
He laid Heaven aside for me, left the Heavenly band,
Laid aside his garments of white, his signet ring that day,
To come to a little town called Bethlehem, to be born and pave the way,
He traded in His Crown of diamonds and gold, for one made of a bush of thorn,
To wear upon His dear head, knowing from the day He was born,
That there would be pain and sorrow from a world full of Satan and sin,
But He gave up Heaven for a spell that I might be born again.
He laid aside all that He held dear for me that day, for you too,
Though, had it only been one to be saved, He would have done the same too,
He knew the pain and sorrow, He knew the deceit that did await,
As He laid Heaven aside and made room for you and me at the gate.
This Savior is Jesus and He laid Heaven aside to die on an old Cross,
That his bride here on this old earth would never suffer loss,
But be promoted to Heavens' Pearled gates as we accepted Gods' Son,
Knowing truly in our hearts, this Son of God is the One.
He's Prince of the Heaven He laid aside, so noble and grand,
Knowing all the troubles that awaited Him in this old land,

He'll Wipe Away the Teardrops

When sorrow comes upon you, and you feel you can't go on,
Remember there's a Savior up yonder, waiting for us to come on home,
He hath prepared the way, through the cross, upon Calvaries' hill,
He'll wipe away all teardrops when we heed His blessed will.

He wipes away all teardrops from His children's eyes, with His love,
He is readying our mansions, where we'll live when we're lifted above,
When we sin and ask him to forgive, then we're like new again,
He wipes away every teardrop from each woman, child or man.

Cant you feel His love beating inside your heart, most every day,
I can feel His love rushing into my heart, as I softly, to Him Pray,
Someday He'll carry us under His wing, to the wondrous shore over there,
And upon our heads, as He takes us home, maybe a halo we'll wear.

We'll see all loved ones who have journeyed on before us, up there,
And I can think about the love of my Savior, and Pray in awesome Prayer,
To a Savior who's waiting for that day, when in glory there, we'll be above,
In mansions built not with hands, but with the Holiness of His love.

He'll wipe away all teardrops from our eyes, no more pain or sorrow,
Will ever be again, as He brings us into Heavens' sweet tomorrow,
Help us to be worthy oh Lord, help all to accept Thine own Son,
That Satan's work will vanish, as you take us up to the great beyond.

Heavens' Garden

Whilst working in Heavens' garden, to make a great design...
Try sowing seed of goodness of each and every kind.
Pretty, white roses, for His Altar, clean as the driven snow...
Red roses for the walkway, for the blood he shed, long ago.
Pink carnations for the piety, we need to show our Christ today...
Just sow flower seed aplenty, all across life's way.
Yellow roses for the sunshine, from Heaven He doth give to all...
And Blue azaleas' for the blue sky, from whence, He doth call.
Plant love in the winter, it will help to keep us warm and cozy,
And set out spring flowers for the springtime, bright and cheerfully rosy.
Asters in the Autumn keep blooming, way on until the snow,
But in the summer... babies' breath, we'll all just have to sow.
In the Springtime apple blossoms, blooming along the way,
Or maybe a peach orchard upon a hillside, to remind us of that day..
. When our Savior shed His Blessings, all upon the world.
And, don't forget the seed of forgiveness... to give it a twirl.
And, Id like to decorate the world, with beautiful flowers for Him,
And try to show my love. But He's the one who sent them.
So, let us use them for His Glory, spread them all along life's way...
Until that sweet time tomorrow, when it will be that sweet day.

How Beautiful Upon the Mountain

How beautiful are the feet upon the mountain, which doth good tidings bring,
That publishes peace, that publishes salvation and saith unto Zion, thy God reign.
The watchman shall agree when the Lord shall again bring Zion, His people free,
Redeemed, and shall sing of joy and gladness, for they shall see and agree.

All ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God, break forth and sing,
Be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord, let thy praises ring,
Unto His ear, that He may know we love Him so, this Christ our King,
And though He shall grow as a tender plant out of the ground, His praises let us sing.

He was rejected, had sorrow, was acquainted with grief and was not esteemed,
Despised and rejected, no beauty, yet many nations by Him shall be redeemed;
He carried our sorrows; we esteemed Him stricken, our sorrows He hast borne,
Smitten by God, wounded for our transgressions, dear Jesus we do for Thee mourn.

All You did for our chastisement, yet all like sheep have turned and gone astray,
Yet all the iniquities were laid on Thee my Lord, as all turned his own way,
He was oppresses and afflicted, yet opened not His mouth to say a word,
He was taken from prison and judgment, the sweetest story ever to be heard.

His grave was with the wicked, with the rich in death, for no violence had He done,
How beautiful are the feet upon the mountain, who brought good news from this One,
Tho the Lord made His soul an offering for sin, He shalt see His seed of plenty,
And by the knowledge of the righteous, bearing iniquities justify many.

I Heard a Distant Choir

As I was was gazing up to Heaven, the stars so shiny and bright,
I thought I heard singing in the sky, way up yonder out of sight,
Singing of the Master, who sits and rules, upon the highest throne,
It was so very beautiful, I was wishing it would go on and on.

It must have been the Angels singing, or the Saints gone on before,
I thought I heard mama and daddy, quietly knocking, on my hearts door,
I listened and was quietly whispering, the name of Jesus to be by my side,
And He assured me in the kindest voice, that He’d ever by me, abide.

It sounded like sweet melodies, coming from there, way up above,
I wondered if it was the Angels telling, of the sweetness of their love,
Hark! I think I see chariots coming, pulled by horses of white,
I wondered how it could be so clearly seen, when it was in the night.

But I could hear the distant choir singing, a sweet melody of love,
‘Twas the Masters voice from Heaven, singing bass, from up above,
Singing, come to me my children, Ill keep you safe from harm,
Then in my mind I saw a banner waving, ‘twas from the Masters arm.

Saying I am the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
I am sending you a message, from the Saints, own Holy choir,
So as I thought of fainting away into death, I awakened, just to see,
That the message meant, one day the Chariot was coming after me.

I Want to Walk on Holy Ground

One night in a little Country Church, at an Altar, a true Savior I found.
He softened my heart and made me long, to walk on Holy ground.
Up there with the dear Master, who is the Holiest of all,
Hastened my heart into soon giving, Him, the most High, a call.

He said He’s waiting and watching, just giving plenty of time,
So come, go with me and call on this living Savior of mine.
He came to earth and walked with the likes of us here, just for the love
Of the brethren here on earth to receive Him from high above.

His love is so awesome. You can feel it without even seeing Him.
But failing to accept Him will cause the light in your soul to grow dim.
Id like to dance in the Spirit, shout with the Angels all around
When I’m there in Heaven. Forever to walk on Holy ground.

I long to be in Glory with a Savior who is ever true and justly divine.
Who will ever look to my cares, because He knows I claim Him as mine.
When this old life is over and done at last, I want to draw ever near to He
Who will be with me all throughout the land and ages, of Eternity.

Maybe there’ll be soft clouds and beautiful valleys with a mustard tree
That we can just gather seeds aplenty and ever be in harmony.
Harmony with this awesome Master in whom the sun and moon obey.
So Lord come for me and let me surely walk on the Holy ground that day.

In the Palm Of His Hand

Let us take great courage in the love of our Lord
He walks with us and talks with us every day in sweet accord.
He is the Savior and helper of our souls; our life
He watches over His children and takes away all the strife.
Some wonder if Jesus is real, I can surely tell you true.
He watches over me and mine every day and the night through.
Let us pray that all will claim the offers of His tender love.
We know in our hearts that one day He will take us above.
Let us tell our neighbor; remind our friends of this goal
It could be the one difference in the saving of their soul.
What a shame, what an error it would be from the start.
As, He holds our life and souls dear, inside His sweet heart.
Let us claim Him as Savior. Let our abode be on high,
With a Savior so wondrous, He will keep our souls nigh
Thank you Father God for lending Thy Son to us on earth
Thank you Father God for having Mary, to Jesus, give birth.
I am glad dear Jesus that you keep us in the palm of Thy hand
Every day and every night all over this blessed land.
I pray all Countries of the world would accept Thy divine word
Read the words in Thy book to see it’s the sweetest story ever heard.

Just a Glimpse of Heaven

I saw the Third Heaven the other night, awesome it was to see.
I only had a glimpse or two of how wonderful Heaven will be.

'Tis beauty beyond measure, like the glittering of the brightest stars.
Yet, this was so much more, with hope for no more hate or wars.

There was a valley and sloping up a hill. I could, so clearly, see
Designs and colors of jewels, shapes that fit together so perfectly.

Joy arose up inside me. The tears in my eyes began to fall
Upon the ground that I knew was Holy and Jesus was over all.

When I saw Jesus inside the Heaven, His beauty unsurpassed
As the glittering mountain and treasures I looked on past.

Just a glimpse of Heaven, and how real it 'tis, is all I need to know.
And, when this life is o'er, with my sweet Lord, I know I'll go.

He awaits His people there and maybe He wants me to tell all
So, when we're gathered together in faith, He will come to call ...

Coming in a cloud in all His Glory, as they saw Him go away.
I treasure the dream, but wonder 'why me'? Was it a special day?

I am just a regular lady, now. 'Tho I was near a child then,
When I saw the third Heaven and thought 'what could it have been'?

I am not learned or of high esteem, unless loving Jesus makes me so.
For, it wasn't jewels that caught my eye but the way He loves us so.
My Father Shall Take Me Home

Many more miles to travel; many more places to see
I travel with my Father, many places to be.
He shall not leave me stranded; He will seal the way.
Come and go with my Father, it will be your happy day.
I fear not the height of mountains, nor winds that blow,
For my Father watches o'er me every place I go.
He shall not flounder. He knows the route true
Just give your heart to Jesus and He'll watch after you.
My Father shall come to me, as He did His Son on the cross
He hung there without mercy, but took away our loss.
He is the fairest in ten thousand. He took the chore.
He has all His many children; each one He doth adore.
He is my gentle Father. He loves all who believe in He
Who, hung on the old cross, to win for us, (a Victory)
A marvelous Victory for all, that on Him believes
Then when He comes to reap, our souls He will receive.
Come, stand beside Him. Let all know how much you love
This Father is of Heaven and earth, who will take us above.
Heaven is home and that is where He will take me that day.
Come, go with me; He would be happy to take us all the way.

My Mother Saw God Today

My mother saw God today, as she quietly slipped away
No more sadness or sickness in her life; she went home today.
God lifted her gently, from a bed where she was confined,
He took her home to glory, showers of His love so divine.

Goodbye sweet mother; I'll see you in the sweet bye and bye
Then there will never again be a cause for you and me to cry.
Soar on dear wondrous mother, with our Jesus there
And know that I kept you foremost in every Prayer.

I will see you again my mom, somewhere above the stars...
Then there will be no more sorrows, no more tears, or wars.
Knowing you are in the arms of Jesus, sweet and refreshing to be,
Will mean peace in the very heart and soul of me.

I know you’d not want to come back to this old place here,
But one day you will look up, as my voice you'll hear.
Consider no more the woes of this old world, down here,
But remember that I'll love you forever, my mother dear...

PEACE BY THE MOUNTAIN

As we looked up toward the mountain,
It's peaks all covered with snow,
Trees and grass glimmering with ice,
While we sat here in warmth down below.
The firelight was gleaming brightly,
With a reddish, yellow glow,
As we sat there til the twilight,
Through the window, watching the snow.
T'is only in the morning, sun shining brightly,
That it all melts and runs away,
Down toward the valley, trickling into a creek,
Maybe, we'll see it again one day.

God Is In The Valley

We are down in the Valley, where times are hard to bear.
Our heart knows well, we can go to God with Prayer.
Though if we expect to learn we need to pick up our burden, try
God wants us to follow His dear Son all the way bye and bye.
Jesus is our God in the Valley; He helps us climb up high.
One day we will reach the mountain top, nearly nigh.
All the joy of pleasing Jesus, comes to my heart clear
It makes me inside know that my Savior is always near.
My God is with me always; He is to me such a wondrous joy.
He knows each heartache of man, woman, girl or boy.
We ask in forgiveness and immediately He is with us there.
God knows how much we care, when we go to Him in prayer.
Go with me and mine dear God, all our life through
Be with us in trials and woes and Lord, be with our children too.
Help them to capture Thy goodness, Thine own Heavenly ways
Let them hold these closely to their hearts, for all their days…
Help us to guide them out of the Valley on to the mountain high.
Thank Thee Lord that we feel Thy love from Heaven on high.
Let us cherish your love and power for now and forevermore.
As we will stand beside Thee,on Heavens’ sweet shore.

GOD'S EARTH

Look way up yonder on the mountain, and in the valley down below,
It's as if God threw seed of every plant, and they began to sprout and grow:
Looking at the grass, the trees, and all the wild flowers, you have to know,
No one, but our living, wondrous, God, could, upon us bestow.
Just look at the prairie, and the animals, and the fresh fallen snow,
The stars brightly glistening, the sun and moon all aglow,
The oceans, and rivers, and the soft trickling of a little stream,
Or the prism's on a window, from the shining of a sunbeam.
He made the meadows, and the cattle, squirrels to scamper up a tree,
The Prairie dog to dig a burrow, food to eat for you and me.
He made our hearts to soften, if we trust and want with Him to live,
He gave His only Son to die for us, Should not we ask Him to forgive?
He loves us more than we even know, for we see through a glass darkly now,
But then, we'll know as we are known, I think our hearts shall truly glow.
He went to prepare a place for us, I know It's true, because He said He would,
So let's get busy, work for Him, and do all the things He said we should.

God is My Anchor

Truly, in these stormy days of life, as tho drifting out to sea,
God sent my loving Savior to ever be an anchor for me.
In the storms of life, in all the winds or desert drought,
My Savior is there, with a helping hand. I know, without a doubt.

He keeps me in all safety, when I sometimes go astray.
He keeps my ship afloat, safely leads me into the bay.
Some days, as I feel I'm sinking, tho I try hard not to be,
He always propels my heart and soul away from danger, alee.

When the waves are bearing down upon me, in this stormy sea,
My Lord will ever be there. I belong to Him, you see.
Since His Holy Spirit, lead me to the altar ('twas so sweet to know),
From coast to coast or from sea to sea, He will always with me go.

So, if you are sinking and in danger, and your heart is full of fear,
Turn over your life to Jesus. He will always keep you near.
He will ever guide you. In your heart, you'll feel His love
So abounding, so joyful, you'll know it's from above.

Let Him be your Anchor. May He guide you o'er the stormy sea
And, in this life, know the blessings - all that life can be.
As the stars glisten in the night and the moon does glow,
Through this life and forever Jesus with you will go.

BENEATH HIS WINGS

Beneath His wings I can travel all over, this world and Heaven above,
It's so simple, I just believe He's my Savior, and He fills my heart with love.
I'm beneath His Wing in times of trouble, sorrow and woe,
In times of joy and gladness, in my work, and all the places that I go.
The feeling is so joyous, that through pain and all, He's there holding me up,
Beneath His wing it's all possible, through his choosing to drink from the bitter cup.
He chose to hang on that old cross and die for you and me, This my Lord,
Through His goodness and mercy, and of His own sweet accord.
Beneath His wing, there's rest and joy, as though wrapped in a warm white shroud
Many thanks for the blessings of My Lord, Who will one day come in a cloud,
All Omnipresent, Who can carry all who love Him, beneath His Holy Wing,
Then one day tomorrow, when this life is done, I will truly His praises sing.
With Omniscient He did For all, lay down His own sweet garment of white,
Along with the signet of His Holy seal, and willingly went into Satin's darkness of night,
To cover my sins, and all who have sinned before, He gave up His honor for me,
To lay aside all that was dear to Him, humiliated but willingly He bore that old tree.
When He went down and took the keys from the bottomless pit, and arose to prevail,
Two angels did sat by his sepulcher, the stone rolled away, when came Mary to avail,
They said, why seek ye the living among the dead, and this to the disciples Mary told,
So beneath His wing I'll stay, till He carries me away, up to the Heavenly fold.

A Peaceful Walk

There's a little path
Going down in the field,
It leads into the forest
Which offers it a shield

The path will fade
As the leaves take over
The stillness there,
Is like none other

The silence of the trees
The stillness of the air
The nature all around
Is what God sent us to share!

A little farther down the way,
Is a parting, and a little brook
Where water flows so gently
Figures dance in it, if you only look.

Then staring at the trees so tall
You see the sun glimmer down
Through limbs and branches
---touching down to the ground

The walk in the woods
Has turned into a peaceful time
That leads you to see
God's loving sign,
His creation!!

To me the best time of the day is early morning,
when all is fresh and new. Yesterday is in the past
and I have a brand new day to experience. I love
to sit on my deck outside and just gaze at the hills.
There is so much peace and tranquility in the early
mornings. The fog in the hills slowly rises as the sun
peeks through, and the birds begin their day, flittering
around, in search of food and welcoming the day.
I enjoy just sitting, browsing and talking to the Lord,
and this time of the day belongs only to Him.

I have written a few poems to express early
morning feelings, and hope you enjoy them.

LET ME NOT FORGET

Dear Lord, the rush seems so never ending
The duties to do, the necessities we face
But Lord let me not forget tending
The responsibilities to You, this day.

You have always had time to help me
Whether sick, sad, or just in prayer
So let me never forget to call on you
Each day, whether in peace or despair

You are the way, the truth, and my lighthouse

Lord, please be with me today and forever.
Help me to stay on the right path, and have victory through you.

MY MORNING GREETING

Today I walked outside to meet a brand new day,
Say my morning prayer, and be closer to Thee.
What a pleasure to feel your presence, and know
You planned this day of beauty, for all to see.

With the birds out singing, and the sun shining bright
And the sweet smell of fragrant flowers in the air
It is all so lovely, a time of peace fills my heart
To know you created all of this, beauty beyond compare.

You made the day, the hour and minute to be so perfect.

Thank you, Lord!!

A BRAND NEW DAY, LORD

Today is brand new, with sun shining so bright
I look out the window, I stand in total awe
And see the marvelous world you have made
Made with the everlasting love, not even one flaw.

You made all of this for us to enjoy
The forests, the animals, the oceans so quiet
Oh, Lord, how can we repay for the beauties we see
And the love, dear Lord, - with love you gave us life.

Let us go through this day, with prayer to you
Thanking you for all the good things you have given us!!

I WILL FOREVER LOVE YOU CHERYL KAIN

September 23, 2008

I have a secret place
I like to go each day.
When the day is filled with cares,
I often slip away.

The solitude I yearn for
Way down deep inside,
I find when I take time to go
All cares will soon subside.

I love my secret place
It affords to me some time,
To still my heart; be renewed,
My thoughts to organize.

You too need a place
That you can be alone,
To be refreshed; hear your heart,
Or sing a cheerful song.

A spirit lift of sorts,
It moves me through each day.
As the sun begins to set,
I quietly kneel to pray.

I thank the Lord for time well spent,
And for showing me this place.
I can be alone with him.
How I thank him for his Grace.

Jesus Brings Joy

Like the beauty of the dew on a rose
as it looks toward the morning sun,
Jesus brings joy to our hearts,
He's the Holy and Anointed One.

Each petal of a fragrant rose
is like a promise God has given,
The Lord brings joy to our lives,
He's our hope and reason for living.

Our hearts can safely trust in Him
the one who saved us from our sins,
Grace and forgiveness is found in our Savior
He's our Lord and Dearest Friend.

Yes, Jesus brings joy to our lives
with each new passing day,
It's such a blessing just to know
He's always with us, along life's narrow way.
