Thomas Rees Obituary

Thomas A. Rees, 95, formerly of 13931 State Ave., Chester, Va., departed this life Sept. 24, 2008, at Retreat Hospital, Richmond, Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cora Rees; his siblings, Richard Bragg, Wortha, Sterling and Melvin Reese Jr.; a devoted niece, Octavia Reese Brown. He retired from E.I. Dupont Co., Richmond, Va.

He is survived by a brother-in-law, Calvin Lipscomb (Carrie); a host of nieces, two devoted, Colette Brown Burt and Valerie Charles, Lena Mae Wilson and Virginia Browser; nephews, Henry Waller and devoted Neal A. Brown Sr., who served as his guardian; godchild, Iris Mayfield; other relatives, friends and devoted caretakers, Gracie Hilliard and Daisy Henderson, both of Richmond, Va.

Remains rest at Chiles' Funeral Home Inc., 2100 Fairmount Ave., Richmond, Va., where funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Sept. 29, with the Rev. Lewis R. Yancey II, eulogist, Interment Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23836.
