L.C. Worley Obituary

L.C. Worley, 68, of Petersburg, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008. He was born in Alabama, the son of the late William M. and Emily Ziglar Worley. Mr. Worley was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years and then later from Defense General Supply Center after 20 years in maintenance. He was also a member of the American Legion Post in Petersburg and served in Korea. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Michelle; a daughter, Corinne Smid and husband, Donald; a son, Fred Worley and wife Donna; five grandchildren, Chris Worley, Brittany Smid, Ryan Worley, Jessie Smid and Josh Worley; four brothers, Vanus Worley, Horace Worley, James Worley and wife Ruby, and Ray Worley; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 2 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 6 to 8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Lester officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Petersburg Animal Shelter. Condolences may be registered at ww.jtmorriss.com
