Alma Price Obituary
She was a native of Sussex County and daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Lena Humphries Dunn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin P. Price; daughter Barbara P. Siena; sister Margaret D. Hogwood and brother Joseph T. Dunn Jr.
She was a retired employee with the Dept. of Social Services for Sussex County. She was a devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn P. Matthews and husband, Larry; son, William P. Price and wife, Vicky; grandson, Ricky Matthews and wife, Robyn; granddaughter, Cheryl M. Love and husband, Norman; three great-grandchildren, Kaylen, Hunter and Ryan; step-grandson, Alexander Novoa; step-granddaughter, Judy Castro; step-great-granddaughter, Maya; a devoted friend, Florence Dunn.
Special thanks to her caregivers, Gwen Johnson, Lucille Hall, Barbara Jones and Beth Seymour. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at the Antioch Baptist Church, Yale, Va. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will be in the Antioch Baptist Church cemetery. Contributions may be sent to the Stony Creek Rescue Squad, Stony Creek, VA 23882 or Antioch Baptist Church. Carolyn, Larry and other Family Members:
It saddens my heart that Mrs. Price has passed away. Although I did not know her personally, it seems as though I did because my mom (Lucille) always had sweet and great things to say about her in our conversations. Just know that I am with you in spirit and that my prayers will reach you many miles
