Frances Barber Obituary

Mrs. Frances Barber, 87 of 14134 Castle Blvd. Silver Spring, Md., departed this life on Oct. 30, 2008.

She was born to the late Richard and Sarah Lewis on Oct. 11, 1921. Frances was educated in the Greensville and Sussex public school systems.

Surviving to cherish her memories forever are: one daughter, Daisy McComb; five grandchildren, Linda, Brenda, Vanessa, Lorenzo and Ronald McCombs; three great grandchildren, William and Issac McCombs and Melanie Thompson; four great-great grandchildren, Marquese, Marqeb, Dereck, Zakayia Thompson; two brothers, Jasper and Joseph Lewis; and two sisters, Sarah O'Neal and Essie L. Owens; one stepsister, Mozell Tyler; one stepbrother, Jeremiah Jefferson, all of Jarratt, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Simmons, pastor, and the Rev. George Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Owens Family Cemetery.
