Ralph Golden Obituary

Ralph O. Golden, 82, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late William H. and Cecil Walthrip Golden, and was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Marie Golden, and a brother, William H. Golden. Mr. Golden attended Immanuel Baptist Church, was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company as a machine operator.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice M. Golden; nieces, Debra Morris Goddard and husband, Mark of Chesterfield, Shirley Skinner Sprouse and husband, Wayne of Richmond, and Jay Morris Good of Richmond; nephew, John W. Skinner Jr. and wife, Jenny of Farnham; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Morris.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. David Prather officiating. Interment in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Road, Suite 130, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
