There are so many things in this life,
That makes our tears to fall.
But we can always say to ourselves,
It will get better after all!
No matter what our worries may be,
We know they will soon be gone.
But others will be there to take their place,
Until we leave here and move on!
But until then we can know,
Life will always give us pain.
But, if we ask Jesus into our heart,
You know we have Heaven to gain!
We have many days filled with joy.
Then just as many days of despair.
We are often telling someone,
It just doesn't seem to be fair!
Just keep going and do your best,
To cheer up and calm your fears.
For joy will come in the morning,
When Jesus comes - that's after the tears!
Live for the Lord and be joyful
While here on this earth we stay.
Jesus will come some glad morning
to lift us up and take us away!
We'll live in that beautiful city
Where the streets are paved with gold.
There it's fully lighted by His Glory.
It's beauty has never been told!
In that place there'll only be joy.
No sorrow or pain or fears.
When we get up to Heaven.
That will be after the tears!

If God Should Speak
"Our Father which art in heaven..."
--- Yes?
Don't interrupt me. I'm praying.
--- But you called me.
Called you? I didn't call you. I'm praying.
"Our Father which art in heaven"...
--- There you did it again.
Did What?
--- Called me. You said, "Our Father which art in heaven." Here I am. What's on your mind?
But I didn't mean anything by it. I was, you know, just saying my prayers for the day. I always say the Lord's Prayer. It makes me feel good, kind of like getting a duty done.
--- All right. Go on.
"Hallowed be thy name..."
--- Hold it. What do you mean by that?
By what?
--- By "Hallowed be thy name"?
It means... It means... Good grief, I don't know what it means. How should I know? It's just a part of the prayer. By the way, what does it mean?
--- It means honored, holy, wonderful.
Hey, that makes sense. I never thought about what "hallowed" meant before. "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
--- Do you really mean that?
Sure, why not?
--- What are you doing about it?
Doing? Nothing, I guess. I just think it would be kind of neat if you got control of everything down here like you have up there.
--- Have I got control of you?
Well, I go to church.
--- That isn't what I asked you. What about your bad temper? You've really got a problem there, you know. And then there's the way you spend your money all on yourself. And what about the kind of books you read?
Stop picking on me! I'm just as good as some of the rest of those people at the church.
--- Excuse me. I thought you were praying for my will to be done. If that is to happen, it will have to start with the ones who are praying for it. Like you, for example.
Oh, all right. I guess I do have some hang-ups. Now that you mention it, I could probably name some others.
--- So could I.
I haven't thought about it very much until now, but I really would like to cut out some of those things. I would like to, you know, be really free.
--- Good. Now we're getting somewhere. We'll work together, you and I. Some victories can truly be won. I'm proud of you.
Look, Lord, I need to finish up here. This is taking a lot longer than it usually does.
"Give us this day, our daily bread."
--- You need to cut out the bread. You're overweight as it is.
Hey, wait a minute! What is this, "Criticize me day"? Here I was doing my religious duty, and all of a sudden you break in and remind me of all my hang-ups.
--- Praying is a dangerous thing. You could wind up changed, you know. That's what I'm trying to get across to you. You called me, and here I am. It's too late to stop now. Keep praying, I'm interested in the next part of your prayer... (pause). Well, go on.
I'm scared to.
--- Scared? Of what?
I know what you'll say.
--- Try me and see.
"Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us."
--- What about Ann?
See? I knew it! I knew you would bring her up! Why Lord, she's told lies about me, spread stories about my family. She never paid back the debt she owes me. I've sworn to get even with her!
--- But your prayer? What about your prayer?
I didn't mean it.
--- Well, at least you're honest. But it's not much fun carrying that load of bitterness around inside, is it?
No. But I'll feel better as soon as I get even. Boy, have I got some plans for that neighbor. She'll wish she had never moved into this neighborhood.
--- You won't feel any better. You'll feel worse. Revenge isn't sweet. Think of how unhappy you already are. But I can change all that.
You can? How?
--- Forgive Ann. Then I'll forgive you. Then the hate and sin will be Ann's problem and not yours. You will have settled your heart.
Oh, you're right. You always are. And more than I want to revenge Ann, I want to be right with you. (pause)...(sigh). All right. All right. I forgive her. Help her to find the right road in life, Lord. She's bound to be awfully miserable now that I think about it. Anybody who goes around doing the things she does to others has to be out of it. Someway, somehow, show her the right way.
--- There now! Wonderful! How do you feel?
Hmm. Well, not bad. Not bad at all. In fact, I feel pretty great! You know, I don't think I'll have to go to bed uptight tonight for the first time since I can remember. Maybe I won't be so tired from now on because I'm not getting enough rest.
--- You're not through with your prayer. Go on.
Oh, all right. "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
--- Good! Good! I'll do that. Just don't put yourself in a place where you can be tempted.
What do you mean by that?
--- Don't turn on the TV when you know the laundry needs to be done and the house needs to be picked up. Also, about the time you spend coffeeing with your friends, if you can't influence the conversation to positive things, perhaps you should re-think the value of those friendships. Another thing, your neighbors and friends shouldn't be your standard for "keeping up". And please don't use me for an escape hatch.
I don't understand the last part.
--- Sure you do. You've done it a lot of times. You get caught in a bad situation. You get into trouble and then you come running to me, "Lord, help me out of this mess, and I promise you I'll never do it again." You remember some of those bargains you tried to make with me?
Yes and I'm ashamed, Lord. I really am.
--- Which bargain are you remembering?
Well, there was the night that my husband was gone and the children and I were home alone. The wind was blowing so hard I thought the roof would go any minute and tornado warnings were out. I remember praying, "Oh God, if you spare us, I'll never skip my devotions again."
--- I protected you, but you didn't keep your promise, did you?
I'm sorry, Lord, I really am. Up until now I thought that if I just prayed the Lord's Prayer every day, then I could do what I liked. I didn't expect anything to happen like it did.
--- Go ahead and finish your prayer.
"For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever." Amen.
--- Do you know what would bring me glory? What would really make me happy?
No, but I'd like to know. I want now to please you. I can see what a mess I've made of my life. And I can see how great it would be to really be one of your followers.
--- You just answered the question.
I did?
---Yes. The thing that would bring me glory is to have people like you truly love me. And I see that happening between us. Now that some of these old sins are exposed and out of the way, well, there is no telling what we can do together.
Lord, let's see what we can make of me, O.K.?
--- Yes, let's see

The Table Cloth
The brand new pastor and his wife, newly assigned to their first ministry, to reopen a church in urban Brooklyn, arrived in early October excited about their opportunities. When they saw their church, it was very run-down and needed much work. They set a goal to have everything done in time to lead their first service on Christmas Eve.
They worked hard, repairing pews, plastering walls, painting, etc.; and on Dec. 18 were ahead of schedule and just about finished. On Dec. 19, a driving rainstorm hit the area and lasted for two days. On the 21st, the pastor went over to the church.
His heart sunk when he saw that the roof had leaked, causing a large area of plaster about 6 feet by 8 feet to fall off the front wall of the sanctuary just behind the pulpit, beginning about head high. The pastor cleaned up the mess on the floor, and not knowing what else to do but postpone the Christmas Eve service, headed home. On the way he noticed that a local business was having a flea market type sale for charity so he stopped in.
One of the items was a beautiful, hand-made, ivory colored, crochet table cloth with exquisite work, fine colors and a cross embroidered right in the center. It was just the right size to cover up the hole in the front wall. He bought it and headed back to the church.
By this time it had started to snow. An older woman running from the opposite direction was trying to catch the bus. She missed it. The pastor invited her to wait in the warm church for the next bus 45 minutes later. She sat in a pew and paid no attention to the pastor while he got a ladder, hangers etc. to put up the tablecloth as a wall tapestry. The pastor could hardly believe how beautiful it looked and it covered up the entire problem area.
Then he noticed the woman walking down the center aisle. Her face was like a sheet. "Pastor, " she asked, "Where did you get that tablecloth? " The pastor explained. The woman asked him to check the lower right corner to see if the initials, EBG were crocheted into it there. They were. These are the initials of the woman, and she had made this tablecloth 35 years before, in Austria.
The woman could hardly believe it as the pastor told how he had just gotten the tablecloth. The woman explained that before the war she and her husband were well-to-do people in Austria. When the Nazis came, she was forced to leave. Her husband was going to follow her the next week. She was captured, sent to prison and never saw her husband or her home again.
The pastor wanted to give her the tablecloth; but she made the pastor keep it for the church. The pastor insisted on driving her home. That was the least he could do. She lived on the other side of Staten Island and was only in Brooklyn for the day for a house-cleaning job.
What a wonderful service they had on Christmas Eve. The church was almost full. The music and the spirit were great. At the end of the service, the pastor and his wife greeted everyone at the door and many said that they would return. One older man, whom the pastor recognized from the neighborhood, continued to sit in one of the pews and stare, and the pastor wondered why he wasn't leaving. The man asked him where he got the tablecloth on the front wall because it was identical to the one that his wife had made years ago when they lived in Austria before the war And how could there be two tablecloths so much alike.
He told the pastor how the Nazis came, how he forced his wife to flee for her safety, and he was supposed to follow her, but he was arrested and put in a concentration camp. He never saw his wife or his home again for all the 35 years in between.
The pastor asked him if he would allow him to take him for a little ride. They drove to Staten Island and to the same house where the pastor had taken the woman three days earlier. He helped the man climb the three flights of stairs to the woman's apartment, knocked on the door, and saw the greatest Christmas reunion he could ever imagine.

That Man From Galilee
Before his love came to me
I was tossed about like the rolling sea
Without direction, completely void
Until his love brought peace and Joy.
Who is this man who looks at me
With eyes so soft and tender?
He seems so strong and mighty
But his love towards me is gentle.
It is this love that sets my heart free,
This wonderful man from Galilee
What does he see when he looks at me?
He seems as if he knows me.
Does he see the person within
Or just the shell of what has been?
Can I trust him with my thoughts?
Does he know what I am feeling?
Will he mend my broken heart
And bring to me inner healing?
This great, great man from Galilee
How do I show my love for one so dear?
I will kneel at his feet, his great words to hear.
I will learn of his ways so right and pure,
So I can show others of his love so sure.
Together we will walk hand in hand
As I travel this path set before me.
We'll talk of the beauty of this great land,
Of the birds in the air,
and the flowers and the trees,
And I will tell others of such great love
Of this wonderful man from Galilee.
Oh the joy that rises up in my soul
A miracle in this heart once so cold,
All because of the love so pure and free
From this great man from Galilee.

No Charge
The cup of God's mercy is boundless
At His table each morning it stands
Offered to all, freely given
Unconditionally, with no demands
The Father in love has provided
Grace sufficient for each day anew
Come to the Holy of holies
There partake of this gift given you
His care for His children eternal
Not by merit, for none could afford
His matchless love everlasting
Yet, each owns the heart of the Lord
The fountain of blessing flows freely
Each day from His infinite store
Its bounty is never depleted
So take all you need and then more
Of all God endows we are heirs
As His graciousness lives ever large
Next to where love penned our name
Are the words clearly written...No Charge

His Tender Mercy
If not for our Savior's tender mercy,
Tell me. Where would my soul be?
It would be a lost and lonely vessel,
On a deep and endless sea.
My soul would be like the sunshine,
Without a place to shine;
Or, a beautiful song without a tune,
That's lacking words that rhyme.
My soul would be as the midnight sky,
With no stars to shine above;
Like a sparrow, with a broken wing,
Or, a songless turtle dove.
It would be an empty void;
With nothingness to fill.
My soul would be like a lonesome dove,
That, somehow, lost his will.
My soul would be a drummer boy,
Whose lost his gift of drum.
Or, my soul would be a hummingbird,
That's lost his need to hum.
But, lucky me, my soul is safe
Because of my Savior's love and grace

Take My Hand, Child
Oh, My Child, why are you shaking?
Don?t you know that I am here?
Feel the sunlight gently warming you
To show you that I?m near?
Feel the breeze that gently tosses
Strands of hair across your face?
Peace, be still, my precious little one!
I am with you in this place!
Oh, I feel your heart that?s breaking,
Shattered in a thousand pieces,
But I?ll heal the pain inside you
If you just reach out and seek me!
Hush, My angel?no more tears now,
Lest your bottle overflows!
See, I catch each one and keep them,
Tiny treasures of your soul!
For if You didn?t feel, My child,
How would you know My love?
See? I?m here to tame the tempest,
So set your eyes on things above!
It?s okay, My child of longing,
There will be a brighter day,
For I feel you reaching out to Me
And I?ll not lead you astray!
Do you know how long I?ve waited
Just to take your hand in Mine?
Oh, I?ve held you, child, within my heart
Since before creation or time!
Take My hand, Child; let Me help you.
Stand up tall, and proud, and strong!
I?m your Father, and I?m beside you,
But hold on tight, child, the walk is long!

JESUS HUGS
Have you ever had a "Jesus hug",
Do you know what one feels like?
If you've never had a "Jesus hug",
I pray one day you might.
A "Jesus hug" is different,
As far as hugging goes;
It's a little taste of Heaven,
Here on earth below.
Only those who love the Lord
Can give a "Jesus hug";
It conveys God's grace and mercy,
And unconditional love.
Those who give out "Jesus hugs"
Always seem to somehow know
Just when you're in need of one
To make your spirit glow.
And if you ever need one
I hope that I will see,
So I can give you a "Jesus hug";
Just like someone did for me.

God Is Real
We cannot see Him but we know that God is real!
Like the unseen wind His presence we can feel!
We who believe live by faith and by His grace!
And just take Him at His word and seek His face!
How sad to know that there are those who don't believe,
In such a one as our dear Lord who eternal life will give!
To all who will believe and call upon His name!
Yes call on God in Jesus name His blood will make you clean!
Blood must be shed to cleanse us from each and every sin!
The blood of Jesus Christ our Lord is sufficient to the end!
His ever-flowing cleansing blood can make the vilest clean!
So wait no longer now that you know
You can be cleansed indeed!

Beauty Of Night
A bright full moon on a quiet night.
I stand in awe, under it's light.
As I tilt my head back and gaze up above.
I see diamonds of light sprinkled in love.
The warmth of the day still lingers around.
In the peace of the night, I hear many a sound.
It's the crickets and night birds singing a tune.
They too, rejoice under the silvery moon.
The trees seem glorious, so majestic and tall.
Silhouetted in moonlight, and the peace of it all.
It's a wondrous thing, the beauty of night.
Daylight's asleep, blanketed from sight.
As the day settles down all over the land.
I stand under the stars and ponder God's plan.
When I look to the heavens, I am truly amazed.
God gave us such beauty to add joy to our days.
When the sun goes down, giving way to night.
It's two different worlds I can have in my sight.
As the hurriedness of life in the light of the day,
Fades to peace and serenity, I quietly pray.
Father I thank you for the beauty of night.
Even though it is dark, I can still see Your Light.
It shines in the night, You created with Love,
In the Celestial Glory and the Heavens Above.

Banquet Table
Father, where are we going?
JUST PUT YOUR TRUST IN ME
Around me there's only darkness
I WILL BE A LIGHT UNTO THEE
But what if I lose my way?
I AM HOLDING TO YOUR HAND
Or what if I stumble and fall?
I WILL HELP YOU CHILD TO STAND
What will I eat on the way?
I WILL BE YOUR DAILY BREAD
Should I bring some water along?
JUST DRINK FROM ME INSTEAD
What if I get discouraged?
I WILL HELP YOU RUN THE RACE
Or feel like I'm left all alone..
KEEP YOUR EYES UPON MY FACE
Must I go by the enemy's camp?
I WILL BE THY SWORD AND SHIELD
What if I'm too weak to fight?
MY POWER SHALL BE REVEALED
But what if I have to suffer?
YOU WILL FIND THE JOY OF THE LORD
Do I have to give up everything?
IN ME IS THY GREAT REWARD
Can I trust You with my life?
WITH MY LOVE YOU WILL BE ABLE
Father, where are we going?

Look Up
Look up my loved one
Look up and see me
Look up, I am there
I will enfold you in my arms
I will uphold you
I have all that you need
Leave your cares with me
I will take care of it
You need not worry
I am your sufficiency
I desire to provide all
Drop your burden in my hands
It is not heavy for me
I will heal your broken heart
I will return your joy
Let go of all your concerns
You cannot fill their needs
I am your God
I will not let you fall too far
My eye is always on you
Look up and see
I am your Father
I love you more than you can imagine
Your enemy cannot win
I conquered him long ago
Put away your fears
They have no power
I will renew your strength
I will return your hope
You are my child
I will never leave you
You are precious to me
Look up my precious one
Abide in my love
THE "U" IN JESUS
Before U were thought of or time had begun,
God even stuck U in the name of His Son.
And each time U pray, you'll see it's true
You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.
You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name,
For U, He was born; that's why He came.
And His great love for U is the reason He died.
It even takes U to spell crUcified.
Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand
He rose from the dead, with U in His plan.
The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew,
And this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.
When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension,
He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.
Go into the world and tell them it's true
That I love them all - Just like I love U.
So many great people are spelled with a U,
Don't they have a right to know JesUs too?
It all depends now on what U will do,
He'd like them to know
But it all starts with U.
Reflections
I want to be a prism, Lord
Bars of gilded light
Glistening with Your glory
Through the darkest night
I want to be a looking glass
You may peer into
To see Your perfect image there
Shining back at You
I want to be a candlestick
By Your Spirit lit
So others find their way to You
From the glow of it
I pray to be all three, dear Lord
Reflections clear to view
But make it so when others look
They won't see me, but You
It's Nothing But Grace
Nothing can be added, nothing to subtract,
Grace has nothing to do with us
And this is just a fact.
It's nothing that you bought,
And nothing that is taught.
It's nothing that you can lend,
And nothing that you can spend.
It's nothing that grows old,
It is nothing that you hold.
It is there when you feel it,
It is there when you don't,
It is there when you accept it
And there when you won't.
It is nothing that you can earn,
And nothing that you learn.
It is nothing that you choose,
And nothing that you can loose.
It is there in the morning,
It is there late at night,
It is there when you are on top of the world
Or in your greatest fight.
It's nothing about the clothes we wear
Or the things that we do without,
It has nothing to do with our appearance,
That's not what grace is all about.
Grace can be summed up as great riches
At Christ's expense,
And to the human part of his people,
It just doesn't seem to make sense.
Unmerited favor full of riches and beauty untold,
And we may never understand it until
We get to heaven and walk on streets of gold.
It is nothing that you bring with you,
When you kneel at the cross and pray,
But once you accept the Lord Jesus Christ,
Grace will never go away.
God's Hands
Sometimes we must be hurt
in order to grow,
we must fail in order to know,
we must lose in order to gain.
Some lessons are learned best
only through pain.
Sometimes our vision clears only
after our eyes are washed with tears.
Sometimes we have to be broken
so we can be tender; sick, so we
can rest and think better on things
more important than work or fun.
Trip near death, so we can
assess how we've ran.
Sometimes we have to suffer lack
so we can know God's provisions,
feel another's pain,
so we can have a sense of mission.
So take heart my friend,
If you don't understand today,
Instead of grumbling,
ask God what he means to say.
In order to learn, you must endure
and learn to see the bigger picture.
In order to grow, you must stand.
Look beyond the hurt, to God's loving
hands that takes what is good
And give what is best.
And on this blessed thought rest, as
your anxious heart with questions wait.
God's hand only gives
what his loving heart dictates.
The Beauty In God's Plan
Palm trees lift their heads up into the blue sky
Their faces look to heaven and unto it draw nigh.
Mountains with broad shoulders hug the earth below
In shades of green and purple, the Lord made it so.
Spectacular sunsets in orange, yellow and red
Kiss the evening sky good night as they tuck it in bed.
Stars dot the nighttime sky like diamonds on display
The moon falls prey once more to the first light of day
Ocean waves roll in and pound the sandy shore
And then race back out again to sea once more.
The earth brings forth her beauty as the seasons unfold
Each one is special when it's story is told.
All nature is obedient to the Maker's plan
Only one creature rebels against it, his name is man.
God in His heaven looked down upon the earth
And provided the way for sinful man to have rebirth.
Won't you join nature in the beauty of His plan
By accepting Jesus while you still can?
Next time you look at nature and marvel at what you see
Thank God that He's shown mercy and paid your penalty.
Do You Wonder?
Do you wonder why you're here?
What this world is all about?
Those things you hold so dear
Those things you go without
The feeling that's inside
You have no answer for
The many nights you cried
Never calling on the Lord
He bends an ear to you
He listens for your plea
You ponder what to do
While Jesus holds the key
If you wonder why you're here
Look upon the Lord
For the answer's very clear
He was nailed upon a board.

Because Of JESUS
Because of JESUS I now can say
My mistakes were made because I did not pray
I was walking on the road of sin and despair
Until JESUS heard my sinner's prayer
Because of JESUS I have changed from my sinful ways
I now feel JESUS' Love growing inside of me everyday
Now I don't worry about the things of this earth
Or about what the possessions of this life are worth
Because of JESUS my only concern is to be in His Plan
As I hold onto His unchanging hands
I now trust JESUS in every way
He knows what is best for me as I face each new day
Because of JESUS, the devil has lost his hold on me
Only JESUS could set me free
He saved my soul from eternal loss
Because JESUS bought my soul on Calvary's cross

Who Am I
Who am I that God should love me
And be punished in my stead?
How could the Great Creator
By the created be led
Up a rugged hill so lonely
To the cross of calvary
And accept that brutal hatred
just to set a sinner free?
Oh, the love that flowed so freely
was a bright and crimson red;
and it held the life of Jesus
and of those who glibly said,
"come on down and we?ll believe you!"
After nails had pierced his hands;
And it also held provision for
Every soul in every land!
Like a speck of minute dust upon
the microscope of space
is my life; a mere reflection
is my influence and place;
Yet I wonder, (oh, I wonder!)
At the gift he gave so high;
and I pledge my deep devotion
as I question, "Who am I?

Look Up to the Dove
God picks us up whenever we fall
Because God is there, seeing us all
And my only wish here my precious dear
Is that you would hold Him quite near
No need to struggle alone with your fears
Just turn to God with your aches and tears
And whenever fear has chilled your bones
Know that you are never, never alone.
To find his warmth and unlimited love
Just look up and see the dove.
Seek His face and find His peace
And you will find His great relief
So let us be happy and content
With each day as we repent
For Hes coming to take us all Home
And never again will we feel all alone

He Touched Me
Thinking I had it all figured out.
Living my life, yet still filled with doubt.
Something felt empty, pointless and dull.
I walked through each day, counting it null.
I thought that this was what life was about.
Finding myself to gain worldly clout.
I thought I had a way to meet every need.
Still my heart had continued to bleed.
I knew that somehow there had to be more.
I kept feeling a tug, and a knock at the door.
Life had to be more than just an existence,
Looking for answers, I prayed with persistence.
I humbled myself and I fell on my knees.
Jesus, oh Jesus, HELP ME PLEASE.
I confessed every sin that I could think of,
And begged Him to fill me with His precious Love.
That's when He touched me with Celestial Glory.
Bringing me into a part of His story.
No longer alone feeling helpless and small.
He touched me with Love, and gave me His All.
Warmth flooded my being, a Touch from Above.
Lightly breathed in my spirit the peace of a dove.
A moment in time that stands still in my mind.
Time spent with My Father, so loving and kind.
This joy can never be contained in my flesh.
Touched by Jesus, I'm renewed and refreshed.
Rays of Light shoot forth from the center of my heart.
As Grace washes my soul to change every part.
Thank You My Jesus, My Saviour, My Friend.
My Father, My Hope, My Deliver from sin.
You Touched Me, You Touched Me from Heaven Above.
Filling my heart with the Light of Your Love.

I'll Be Back For You
My Dear Child,
Today I heard you heart's cries,
I saw the tears falling too
And all the pain that filled your eyes
As I was watching over you
I know the sorrows that you hold inside
And how hard it is for you to let go
For I once walked thru the valley of sorrows
That seemed so sad and long
The Human Nature inside of me
Also cried out in despair
And ask this question too...
My God, My God why have you forsaken me
As my Human Spirit
Was feeling ever so alone
Even the Ten Thousands stood in await
That could have came to me
I chose to follow thru
What God had planned for me
It's Only Human Nature My Child
To have these feelings too
For Sorrows will come into your life
To make you feel this way too
But just remember how much I Love You
And that you are never really alone
For I walk with you daily
Thru the Valleys that seem so long
You have so much hope in the future
That I have prepared just for you
Just read John 14: 1 thru 3
And then this you will know too...
I'll be back for you,
Love,
Jesus

Forgiven
There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. And he was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods. He practiced in the woods, but he could never hit the target. And getting a little discouraged; he headed back to dinner.
As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and grieved.
In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile, only to see his sister watching. Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing. After lunch that day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes." But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen." Then she whispered to him, "remember the duck?"
So Johnny did the dishes. Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper." But Sally just smiled and said "Well that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help." She whispered again, "remember the duck?" So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.
After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's he finally couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck. Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing. But because I love you, I forgave you, I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you."
Thought for the day: whatever is in your past, whatever you have done and the enemy keeps throwing it up in your face (lying, debt, fear, hatred, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, etc.) whatever it is, you need to know that Jesus Christ was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing. He wants you to know that He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the enemy make a slave of you. The great thing about God is that He not only forgives you, but He forgets.
Go ahead and make the difference in someone's life today. Share this with a family member or friend. Remember, that Jesus is at the window.

God Knows
You have my deepest sympathy,
but it really doesn't help.
Your grief goes beyond
what words can express.
There's nothing anyone can say,
and nothing we can do
to heal your broken heart
or take away your pain.
Let God take you in His arms
and cover you with His love.
He knows the depth of your grief
and only He can give you peace.
He knows it will take time
for your heart to heal, and
your loved one has a place
that no one else can fill.
If there's any comfort let it be in this,
your loved one is with Jesus,
in a home that's filled with bliss.
There are no tears in Heaven,
no more heartache and no pain,
only love and happiness
for all eternity.
We must go on living and
do the best we can,
then when Jesus calls our name
we will be with them again.

see the clouds rolling in and oh how it looks like rain
And it is always I fight for the welcome change
When it rains it pours on this heart of mine
So, I take the storms I feel to her each time.
But I know she has lived under her own pouring rain
Yet under her water her heart still doesn't change
She can walk away from what hangs overhead
And, not in her storm, are words left unsaid.
Not in her storm have I ever felt alone
Her storm ends, so I, may find my way home
It's for me that she pushes away her own rain
So, that I may find comfort in calling her name.
She lives in this world for the sake of another's heart
God, how she eases the miles when worlds apart
And she never wanders when your world falls through
Not ever in her storm would she do this to you.
She has wings that I know not only I can see
Cause only an angel could find strength to carry me
It's the way that the eyes can surely view
How her heart's written so clearly in what an angel can do.
Not in her storm is her work ever done
And even in her storm she hands me the sun
When her world is dark - I always have light
And now how I hold the new color of night.
She takes then she gives to an unhappy face
So that many can find an awesome place
I have been able to love her more every day
And with her hand in mine the clouds roll away.
Not in any storm that I will ever live beneath
Could ever change what I hold here inside of me
Not in any of her storms have I lost my angels touch
To that angel out there, I love her so much.

I feel like I've known you forever
Although I only met you sometime this past year
But our friendship will remain forever
No matter what shall cross our paths and hearts
The best thing that's happened to me
Is finding a forever friend like you
You're there to listen, help, and talk to
And best of all, I know I can confide in you
Some say the best love is one sprung from friendship
So I feel this is why we should try
Time leads us in this direction
Should we follow on down the line?
Friendship and love are always intertwined
Too close which sometimes causes confusion
But if we don't try, we will never know if it was meant to be
But forever you will remain my friend
I don't know if this is going to work
I'm not totally sure we should try
But I have all these mixed feelings
Bottled up inside
I love you both inside and out as my best friend
And I know that you love me that way too
So when I say "best friends forever"
That even means when I'm saying" Goodbye, I love you, too."

My guardian angel, once careless and free,
flew into the clouds and lost touch with me.
Her tears were cold and wet, falling on my face.
Her smile had left us without a trace.
Her angelic lips quivered, frozen and scared,
I felt rain clouds visiting, and had to prepare.
I knew that angels, often content,
were very special presents that God had sent.
To see one so sad,
so afraid,
so alone,
had made me weep while the cold winds had blown.
Her wings lost feathers,
comforting and soft,
falling from the stars,
floating aloft.
Her pain was felt throughout the land,
to feel true misery is impossible to stand.
I prayed so that when her hurting stops,
I'll be able to taste the angel's teardrops.

Today is the day of your funeral,
A day of mourning.
I sang at your funeral and felt a lot of pain.
Agony is taking over.
I pray to God that we will meet again.
I try to live a normal life but all I can think of
is your death.
Your death was a shock, but we all were expecting
a call one day, saying you had died.
We got that call three days ago.
When I answered the phone, I could feel something
was wrong.
It was Papaw.
I have never heard him cry before.
He said we need to come home, because you had passed
away.
When we got there, Papaw asked me if I would sing a
song and I said, "sure".
I sang, "I Will Remember You."
Papaw told me that I did well, like he always says.
We came back home, and I had to sing at church.
All I could think of was you.
As days passed, I got used to your not being here.
The hardest thing was the family getting together
for Christmas.
My Christmas present for the family was a video of
you.
I took old pictures and videos of you and put it
all in one.
Papaw watches it every day.
I may not get to watch the video every day, but you
are always in my dreams.
We all love you and miss you so much.
I Love You Mamaw.

Saying goodbye is never easy
It's the hardest thing to do
But what hurts even more
Is not the chance to say it to you.
Yesterday is just a memory
Our laughter was sunny and bright
Then clouds started to gather
For you were no where in sight.
You were my first real love
And this I will never forget
How you left without a warning
No good-byes, my only regret.
Wherever I may be now
Always searching for another so true
To place my world of emotion
Handing my love to someone like you.
If again I must go there
And experience all the pain
I would do it in a minute
For all the good I would gain.
No matter what my wrongs
You offered only love
Until the day you left me
For your new home up above.
I know you still are with me
Your love is within my heart
Though life is no longer present
Our souls will never part.
This is given to you in honor
Of all that we did share
I just wanted you to know, dear,
How much I really did care.

I'VE WONDERED LORD
I've wondered, Lord, how it can be
You hear me when I call?
I'm only one of millions, and
Your love is over all.
How can it be Your Holy ear
Is tuned to hear my cries?
How can You know what troubles me
And see tears in my eyes?
Do I presume too much when I
Approach Your sacred throne,
And dare to think that I can spend
Some time with You alone?
Sometimes I am so weary
I don't even want to pray.
I feel confused; things look wrong
I don't know what to say.
In quietness and confidence,
I seek a place apart,
And rest until I feel Your Spirit
Touch my trembling heart.
Although I cannot understand,
Somehow, I know You've heard,
Like lovers who communicate
Without a single word.
You are so great! I am so small.
I'm glad it is this way.
All things are possible with You;
You hear me when I pray.
Great God of all the universe,
In joy or in distress,
I rest myself in all You are,
For You are limitless!

SAFELY HOME
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief are over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder how I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Ah! But Jesus love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
in that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now while life remaineth,
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of the meeting!
Oh, the joy to see you come!
All the pain and grief are over,
Every restless tossing passed,
Now at peace forever,
Safely Home In Heaven At Last!

I'll See You When the Sun Goes Down
I'll see you when the sun goes down
And all the stars go crazy,
And Christ returns to claim His throne
Upon this erring earth.
And you and I will be amazed
At all that now seems hazy;
For now is faith, but then will be
The glory of rebirth.
Death will die, and we will sing
With angels at our ears,
And all my love for you will pour
Like rivers from my song.
And joy will never end, for we
Will be beyond the years,
And time before the end of time
Will not seem very long.
How beautiful Creation will
Then be! Much more than now,
When visible to faith alone
As we endure our pain.
How wonderful the gift of grace
From Christ that will allow
Me well to bear my grief until
I see you once again.

I Am Not Gone
I am not gone; I am changed.
Have faith and please believe me.
God did not take me away from you,
He split the skies and received me.
Now...
I'm an echo in your laughter,
A reflection in your tears,
An extra thread of strength
To help you overcome your fears.
I'm an added ray of sunshine,
More joy for you to share,
A fragrance of the life you live.
Wherever you are - I am there.

Can anything compare with this--
The life of FAITH sees through mists
If doubt and grief, and claims
His precious promise to sustain.
Ah yes the best us yet to be
Anticipating faith will see
His glorious face and realize
His Presence there -- our highest prize!
Can anything compare with love:
The love that reaches from Above,
And touches every part of me;
Unbounded love that sets us free
To know the LOVER of my soul--
The source of love that made me whole;
It's sitting there beneath His feet;
When life and love will be complete.
Can anything compare with this:
A HOPE that reaches and insists
His Word is true; a hope that waits
With clearer view of Heaven's gates.
Some happy day the Lord will come
For all his own, to take us home:
FAITH, LOVE and HOPE now surely see
The VERY BEST is yet to be!

IN LOVING MEMORY
I cannot say, and I will not say
That she is dead-she is just away!
With a cherry smile, and a wave of the hand,
She has wandered into an unknown land,
And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs must be, since she lingers there.
And you-O you, who the wildest yearn
For the old time stop and glad return,
Think of her faring on, as dear
In the love of There as the love of Here;
Think of her still as the same, I say:
She is not dead-she is just away!

Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.
I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

A gift's been given in your loved one's name
Through which some bit of good may come of sorrow.
Life is something all of us must borrow,
Returning it, in time, to whence it came.
Pleased be assured that it will be well used,
As every gift that sings of love and light
Will render things less wrong, though never right;
For gifts of morning ought not be refused.

I'm sorry I can't be with you today
When all the family's gathered in one place.
But I am with you in another way,
A current in the stream of what you say,
Alive within your consciousness of grace.
I'm sorry I can't be with you today
To share your happiness and touch the clay
That once it was my fortune to embrace.
But I am with you in another way,
An intimate that time cannot betray,
With you always, unconstrained by space.
I'm sorry I can't be with you today
To watch with you the slanting sunlight play,
Casting lovely shadows through the lace.
But I am with you in another way,
Waiting for you where the shadows lay
Their darkness soft across your gentle face.
I'm sorry I can't be with you today.
But I am with you in another way.

To lose someone who's loved you all your life,
Having held you long against the darkness,
And felt the press of friends upon your sadness,
Need cutting through your torment like a knife . . .
Kindness is a sign of inner plenty:
Yours does much to mitigate my pain.
Of grief comes neither clarity nor gain
Unless friends fill its passion with their beauty.

You were my mother and my friend,
Which was unusual.
Somehow our characters still blend:
Your wisdom and my will.
I turned, and you were there for me;
I spoke, you understood.
I felt cared for, but also free;
You loved, and I was good.
I'm fortunate that I was born
To someone just like you;
I love you still. Though you are gone,
You live in what I do.

Rest in peace, my loved one, rest in peace,
Eternally, essentially at rest.
Sleep the sleep of those who do not dream,
The dark oblivion that knows no pain.
Interred within my heart, you will remain
Neither fixed nor flowing with the stream,
Part me, part you, part child by angels blessed,
Embraced by those in whose arms sorrows cease.
All my wakeful nights, my days distressed,
Called to account, your slumber will redeem,
Even as I haunt you once again.

I want you to be happy when I'm gone.
When you mourn me, make your mourning bright,
Adjusting what you long for to the light.
Nor need you love the less what has passed on.
The art of memory is celebration,
Yearning that turns sorrow into song,
Opening a heart forever young
Upon the unmade bed of its creation.
Then celebrate my life, and also death,
On which I, like a mendicant, depend,
Begging that my suffering might end
Even as I fight for every breath.
Hold onto me with unresentful tears,
A testament to what we've learned of love,
Pleased again to move as your heart moves,
Partaking with no loss in passion of
Years as rich and full as were our years.

I need to say goodbye although you're with me.
I stand beside your grave, yet you are here.
I miss you terribly and hope you miss me,
But when I turn to you, you're always near.
I talk to you as though you lived within me,
Not changed but simply moved in from outside.
I know each day you must a little leave me,
But here, as always, you must be my guide.
You were and are and will be, just as ever,
In many minds and hearts, not only mine.
No physical event can such love sever;
Death is a dimension, not a line.
And so goodbye does not mean you are gone:
So long as I still love you, you live on.

If tolling bell I ask the cause.
'A soul has gone to God,'
I'm answered in a lonesome tone;
Is heaven then so sad?
That bells should joyful ring to tell
A soul had gone to heaven,
Would seem to me the proper way
A good news should be given.

FAREWELL.
Tie the strings to my life, my Lord,
Then I am ready to go!
Just a look at the horses --
Rapid! That will do!
Put me in on the firmest side,
So I shall never fall;
For we must ride to the Judgment,
And it's partly down hill.
But never I mind the bridges,
And never I mind the sea;
Held fast in everlasting race
By my own choice and thee.
Good-by to the life I used to live,
And the world I used to know;
And kiss the hills for me, just once;
Now I am ready to go!

A mother's love, a Mother's care,
A mother's sigh, a Mother's prayer
A Mother's work, and Mother's day,

A godly Mother with godly above,
A godly Mother with godly care,
Has God's help when she sighs a prayer.

MOTHER
Mother is the one who loves and cares,
Mother’s hands is the one that bears,
Mother’s hands are the one that protects.
Mother’s hands is the one that rocks,
Mother’s hands is the one that gives and not takes,
Mother’s hands is not smooth,
As her hands is the one that bakes.
Mother’s hands is like that of an angel,
Mother’s hands is the one that grew, us this far,
Mother’s hands is the most blessed one,
Mother’s hands is the one that prays,
Mother’s hands is the one that’s most dear
Mother’s hands is the one that is patient,
Mother’s hands is the one that is warm,
Mother’s hands is the most compassionate,
Mother’s hands is the one most sincere,
Mother to me is ABOVE ALL.

Mother’s definition
Mother’s love is deeper than ocean,
Mother’s lesson is bigger than the sky,
Mother’s sacrifice is greater than God,
Mother’s lap is more comfortable than the warm bed,
Mother’s tale is better than the best novel on this earth,
Mother’s picture is more beautiful than a fascinating scenery,
Mother’s blessings are more powerful than the thousands of seas,
Mother’s shade is cooler than the shade of heavy laden trees,
Mother’s light is brighter than the sun,
Mother’s role is seventy times greater than the father,
Mother’s place is more sacred than any shrine,
Mother’s care higher than the heaven.

Mother's hands brail our face
Mother's hands read our fears
Mother's hands held compassion

Mother's hands lined by caring
Mother's hands not smooth
Mother's hands map understanding

Here's a petal, just from me, when I once scraped my knee.
Here's a petal, just from me, when you rocked so gently.
Here's a petal, just from me, when you sang endlessly.
Here's a petal, just from me, when all odds were against me.
Here's a petal, just from me, when I rebelled against you.
Here's a petal, just from me, when you sat waiting expectantly.
Here's a petal, just from me, when you prayed forgivingly.
Here's a petal, just from me, because you gave unselfishly.
Here's a petal, just from me, to weave in the untold parts.

My mother is a special part
Of all that’s cherished in my heart,
She is my pearl, my soul, my mate;
She is the one to make life great.
She is an angel without the wings,
Who makes life special with the littlest things,
Whenever I’m in need of love,
She is there from the heavens above;
Whenever I’m in need of a shoulder,
There’s no one as devoted as my mother.
Her presence and love have always been there,
Everything in her nature is to only care.
With every soft hug and kiss
The world seems more beautiful and blessed.
I’m sorry for all the times I caused you pain,
But after these brief storms my love still remains.
I love you so much,
I will love you forever-
I wrote your name on my heart
And it will stay there forever, and ever…

The pain is excruciating,
The pain sinks in,
The tears pour down my cheeks.
My heart breaks like a crushing tin,
I see your eyes,
Twinkling in the skies,
My heart breaks like a crushing tin,
No more tears now,
no more pain now,
No more laughter,
or sadness.
There’s no more feelings,
you do not move.
Lying there in your coffin,
Staring up at me into my eyes.
All the things I should of said,
All the things I could of said.
I miss your smile
I miss your teeth
the whiteness,
and the brightness,
You brought to life.
I cannot stand the pain anymore,
It's time to leave,
you go,
then I go,
It's time to leave.

By assisting a person or two
Allow yourself to begin
Another day renewed
Know that you are not alone
As our tears fall together as the rain
And the storms became so heavy
That we felt the weight of pain
But when the weight is lifted
And the sun begins to rise
I will hold you close and whisper
I am the rainbow in the skies
For with every vibrant color
There is a gift each brings
To cloak you in our Love
"Love" is an amazing thing
Bring me a tomorrow
Bring me happiness with no hate
Bring a peaceful world that's forgiving
For our Angels to embrace

Nearly all of my life, people have come into my life for a season. It's always hard to know that after you say goodbye that one last time, it'll be for good most likely. What's worse than losing a friend? I can't think of any because any loss is hard especially when you don't get to say goodbye. I know, I didn't.
Almost two years ago now, my dad summoned my brother, sister and me for a family meeting. The look on my mom's face told me one thing, who did what this time and whatever it was it must be serious. It was much worse. The words, "Grammy's gone," told me all I needed to know.
Unexpectedly my grandma had suffered a heart attack in the early morning hours of September 29 2003 and went to Jesus all alone. She had called just the day before to wish my dad a happy birthday. She didn't seem herself. My sister had the worst reaction and everyone spent the next two hours completely in tears hugging and holding everyone, tissues reigned and phone calls were made. In minutes the entire family was notified and no less than a week later we were all bound to Hawaii for the funeral and family reunion.
My family has always been very close, very open and very emotional about everything. Gram knew that and she also knew that we wouldn't find time to have a family reunion. She was a powerful symbol in my family, a loving, warm, very generous matriarch, a fabulous grandmother and warm and caring mother and from the stories I've heard, a great friend.
I"ll always miss how her presence made Christmas that much better, how a hallmark greeting card with an aloha from her on my birthday brought a smile to my face. She did wonders for our family while she was here, I know she is healthy, happy, and rejoicing next to Jesus with her precious cats and dog.
Any loss is hard, just remember that they are in a better place and you will get to see them when it's your time to go home.

They say when you lose someone you love, it will get easier with time.... I find it getting harder and harder every day. This pain I feel seems to never subside... carrying you with me... every step of the way

Always remember, "Depth of pain is inversely proportional to the rate at which you accept the facts". This means if you accept the facts at a faster rate, the depth of the pain is not that much. But, if you take more time to settle down so acceptance of the facts will be at slower rate, then the depth of pain that you experience is definitely to a greater extent."
Can you look in my eyes and see.... see that I've cried a million tears... just for you? Let the pain flow through your heart.... and let the truth be told you can't change the past-- you can't change the future.... so let the pain and memories be made ...unforgettable."

Learn to make the most of life
Lose no happy day
Time will never bring them back
Chances swept away
Lose no tender word unsaid
Love while it shall last
The mill will never grind again
With waters that have passed.
YOU ARE
As my tears began to flow from my eyes
I am reminded of where you are.
Although you are an eternity away from me,
I know that you are not very far.
You are in the bright stars
That twinkle above my head at night.
You are in the warmth of the morning sun
Which gives me much-needed light.
You are in the song sung by the flock of doves
Which nestle in the trees.
You are in the gentle feel, on my face,
Of the tropical breeze.
You are in the sound of the white-capped waves
Which break upon the shore.
You are in the livelihood of the fish swimming
In the ocean's depths for evermore.
You are in the peals of merry laughter
Which beckon to my longing ears.
You are in the resonating shouts of joy
Which always dries my tears.
You are in the whispered reassurance of love
Coming from the lips of loved ones.
You are in the firm exhortations to,
"Go forth this day and, for me, have much fun!"
You are in the furry softness of my dog, Haiku
Cozying up near my face.
You are in the inaudible sound of God's beauty
Which fills this Place.
You are in the sad lullabies
Of both Elvis Presley and Bobby Vinton.
Yet you are also in the happy love-stories
From Chuck Berry and George Harrison.
You are everywhere I go,
No matter how eternally far away you are from me.
All I have to do is live for your love--
Not only externally but also from deep down within.
Now, as my tears begin to flow from my eyes
I will be reminded of where you are.
Although you are an eternity away from me,
I know that you will never be very far.

Remember, as much as your sorrow is today, so shall your joy be someday. God will not put you through so much pain if he does not have so much happiness already planned for you...the universe has always maintained a constant stream of balance."
What is death? It is the crossing of the soul into heaven or hell. It teaches that no one is invincible. It shows that love goes beyond life. It makes me wonder why I ever worried about life. It proves that it doesn't matter what you do in life. It won't bring you down or raise you to the top. It brings shivers to some and makes some people happy. It puts the thought of the perfect place, where nothing is wrong. It makes me think of nothing but god and myself. It says that everyone dies...but this isn't true either. It will never be true if you truly love someone. It will never take control of me. I live for the moment, I live for what god wants of me, I live for fun, I live to love. I love life but I can't wait until I'm in the lord's grasp, never to worry about anything ever again."
