William Elder Obituary

William Ray Elder of Colonial Heights, Va., died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at his home.

William was a native of Virginia for 21 years.

Suvivors include: his wife, Michele R. Elder; one daughter, Jennifer L. Campbell (Robert); six sons, Kenny Elder (Jennifer), Brian Rouse (Allison), Billy Elder (Mandy), Michael Elder, John Gordet, and Danny Gordet; two sisters, Alice Martin and Ruby Joblin; parents, Clarence W. Elder Jr. and Sarah Elder; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

William was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence W. Sr. and Vera Elder.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church.

He touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.

Donations can be made to Crater Hospice and/or Wesley United Methodist Church.

I am so thankful I could be with each of you and help at the end. I wish I could of been closer to help at other times and be with my family tonight. I pray you have comforate in knowing Ray does not have to know anymore pain. It gives me comforate in knowing he has such loving children that will make him proud and be there to support you. Michele & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I know only too well what your feeling. Michele, I know how much you love Ray and how much you will miss him. He will live in your heart forever. He will live on in his children and granchildren. You will see them smile or look a certain way and you will think, that is just like Ray, and it will comfort you to know a part of him is expressed through them. If you need anything, please call, especially those late night needing someone to talk to times. I love you.
