Frank Blaha Obituary

Frank John Blaha Jr., 70, of Prince George County, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at his residence.

He was born in Colonial Heights, Va., and had been a lifelong resident of the Hopewell and Prince George area. Frank was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Historic Hopewell Foundation and served on various community committees. He was past governor of LOOM #1472 and had been awarded the Pilgrim Degree. Frank was known for his love of big game hunting and was the owner of Blaha Bonding Co. He was the son of the late Frank John Blaha Sr. and Virginia Brown Blaha.

Mr. Blaha is survived by his wife, Rae Price Blaha of Prince George; two daughters, Susan B. Evans and her husband, Randall, of Smithfield, Merry Blaha of Hopewell; five grandchildren, Sunny H. Laxton, Joseph M. Holland, Megan Johnson, Whitney Harrison and John Harrison; six great-grandchildren, Gracie, Devyn and Cooper Laxton, Keilei and Chesdyn Holland, and Trey Harrison; two sisters, Marie B. Pearson and her husband, Sonny, Patricia B. Henderson, all of Hopewell; two brothers, Ronald M. Blaha of Florida and C. Drexel Blaha of Charles City, Va.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Michael Browder, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George County. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244, or American Foundation for the Blind, 1110 Penn Plaza, New York, NY 10001. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com.

I can't believe Frank has passed as I just saw him the other day.I guess he figured he had to keep Ricky Krout out of trouble in Heaven.He was like a second dad to all of us at Crystal Lake.We had great times together.Godspeed Old Buddy. Mickey Janosik

Our prayers are with the family during this time of loss with Frank's passing. We have always respected Frank and Maxine had have enjoyed working with them in the Bond Business.
